Violet Breeze had been a spirit for pretty much all of what would have been her life. In fact the only memory she had of her living self was what she now knew to be the sound of breaking glass. She'd immediately decided to follow her twin sister everywhere she went, experiencing the closest thing she could get to life.

At first she'd been completely invisible and intangible to everyone and everything around her. She had no control over anything that happened, until the very first time she knew her sister needed her. The tiny batpony had wandered into the Everfree Forest by mistake. This was the first time she'd not followed her everywhere, instead desperately trying to find a way to get their parents' attention, or at least their cousin's. Her worry high, she suddenly felt and heard a twig snapping beneath her small hooves.

She looked down in shock, realizing she'd made that happen. And her cousin seemed to get the message.

It was a long time until Violet's sister could finally see and hear her. Their brother still couldn't, but to her, what mattered most was Eclipse.

And now here she was, racing far ahead of the two. She flew further into the trees until finally reaching the town beyond. She spotted a few stands where there was fruit, and eventually her gaze landed on exactly the thing she needed. A single mango lay on the ground near a stand, completely unnoticed by nearby ponies. Violet flew down and trotted toward it, carefully making sure she could move it.  As soon as she knew she could, she understood what she needed to do.

Careful not to let the mango be noticed, she quickly rolled it all the way through Ponyville, until a cottage surrounded by nature came into view. Relief washed over her as the mango rolled onto the doorstep, and Violet took a deep breath. She knew her sister would hate what she was about to do. She raised a hoof and brought it down forcefully on the mango, smashing it and leaving it a sticky mess. Inwardly she apologized to the yellow mare inside the cottage, before knocking on the door at a rather fast pace. Violet knew it would likely startle the pegasus, but she needed to put the urgency of the situation first.

Fluttershy answered, and thankfully saw the smashed mango. Now all Violet could do was hope she understood what that mango was intended to mean. She watched as the mare stared at it for a moment, before her cyan eyes suddenly widened. Violet's own blue eyes glowed with triumph, knowing she'd gotten her message across. The yellow pegasus had realized Eclipse was in danger.
