"What of doubt? How can you be so certain how it will end?"
"All I have ever and will always have is my beliefs and sometimes his love for us manifests itself without even that. You fear what our eyes cannot see and shy away to what our heart feels when we believe we aren't alone. Like the doubt in you that you've ignored for so long that you've driven it to sleep. It keeps you restless at night. Thinking that if you give in, just this once, everything you aspire to be in this world would surely cease to exist. What of doubt then? Surely if you accept who you truly are in this world you would never walk carelessly in the winter without a care and nothing to protect your feet. So too, would I never stray away from my beliefs. For they are his and mine alone."
The brass began to warm in his hand.
