The Meeting

Well, my alarm just went off at 6:00 am so now time to get ready for work meanwhile my best friend Marisol just texted me "Hello bestie, when are you going to be working today?" I respond "I'm going to be opening the shop around 7:20 am today." she replied "That's perfect so I can stop on the way to work and buy some coffee." I'm grabbing my uniform and putting it on the bed so I can just grab it and put it on once I get out of shower and into my room. I just got in the shower and putting some music so it can wake me up right now that I need it the most so later on I can grab an energy drink. I am finishing with the shower and get a call from the manager of the shop, ugh got to answer grabbed my phone and answered the call "Hey, good morning." the manager replied "Good morning Beatriz, I'm calling to let you know you have about a whole week of tips so when you get here, go straight to the office." I replied "Alright, I will do that. Thank you for calling I will see you there." hang up the phone and grabbed the towel got out of the shower and dried myself then went to the room. I grabbed my underwear put it on and now putting on the uniform and putting on my socks and shoes. Now I'm doing my hair putting it in a braid with some fake earrings that way if one falls during work I won't have to worry about losing some money which the real silver earrings cost me a lot more money with my saved money for some of that. Well, now I'm in my car with my purse that has my wallet which has the Drivers license and every other card I know and probably about twenty dollars which is not much but still good enough for me. I am already out of the entrance of the neighborhood and now going to the traffic lights and the blasting music in all time high. I love this song it gives me a lot of energy Glitter by Benee, anyways I'm almost close ugh getting a call from the manager, he says "Hey Beatriz, are you close by?" I reply "Almost but not all the way close. Why?" he replies "Oh I was going to ask you to bring my wife that's home right now." I'm really wondering why he wants me to pick up his wife...I ask "Where do you live?" he replies "Close to the Coffee shop." oh wow no wonder he's usually early, I reply "Well, I need the street name and what's the color of the house and the name of the neighborhood is in." he replies "Well, the house is colored white with black and the street name is 270 7th St." I replied "Oh the one very next to the shop alright I will pick her up." I am still wondering why anyways let me just keep driving the manager calls me back "Hey Beatriz, forget about it, she just called and had someone solve it for me. I need you to be here." I replied "Alright, boss I am on my way I'll see you there about 12 minutes." We hang up the phone and I am literally four traffic lights away from the shop, thank God that I left the house early. I just got to work now I am getting out of the car and heading inside the shop now, well the manager just noticed me walking into the shop. The manager calls me across the shop "Hey Beatriz, can you come here?" I said "Yeah, I will be there in a second." I go to the office and he tells me "I have all this paperwork to do just for you. The company is thinking about moving you up from the position you're already in." wow that surprised me...I say "Thank you guys for considering me for the position so which position will that be?" he says "You will be the new floor manager." well nice to be considered for that position I have to take it I need the money he asks "Do you accept it?" I say "Yes I accept it." The manager tells me "Oh yeah here's your tips that you have collected throughout the whole week and the past one." I sign a paper that confirms I got my tips and now I clock in to start my shift. My best friend Marisol texts me "Hey you're now at work. Are you guys open right now?" I text her while I'm putting on my apron in the bathroom "Yes we're open." my guess is she will be here pretty soon just knowing her.
