The night of the full moon arrived, and the Quitters were ready. They had gathered their weapons, supplies, and courage. They had studied the map of the Hunter's base, memorizing the entrances, exits, and weak points. They had divided into teams, each with a specific role and objective. They had synchronized their watches, and agreed on a signal. They had said their prayers, and hugged their friends.

They had followed Royuki, who led them to the outskirts of the base. He looked at them, and nodded. He pressed a button on his watch, and a loud explosion rocked the air. It was the signal. The attack had begun.

The Quitters charged towards the base, firing their guns and throwing their grenades. The Hunters were caught off guard, and scrambled to defend themselves. The Quitters breached the perimeter, and entered the base. They split up, and headed to their targets.

Royuki and Kai were part of the team that was assigned to free the prisoners. They ran through the corridors, shooting any Hunter that crossed their path. They reached the prison block, and saw a large metal door with a keypad. Royuki typed in the code that he had obtained from a captured Hunter, and the door opened. Inside, they saw dozens of Quitters, chained to the walls, beaten and starved. They recognized some of them, and felt a surge of anger and sadness.

"Quick, free them!" Royuki shouted, as he and Kai rushed to unlock the chains. The other Quitters followed, and helped them. They gave them water, food, and weapons. They told them to follow them, and escape.

They were almost done, when they heard a loud siren. It was the alarm. The Hunters had realized what was happening, and were sending reinforcements. Royuki looked at his watch, and saw that they had only a few minutes left. They had to get out, fast.

"Come on, let's go!" Royuki yelled, as he led the way. He and Kai were the last ones to leave the prison block, and they closed the door behind them. They ran towards the exit, hoping to meet up with the other teams.

They were almost there, when they saw a group of Hunters blocking their way. They opened fire, and the Quitters returned fire. A fierce gunfight ensued, and bullets flew in all directions. Royuki and Kai ducked behind a wall, and exchanged a glance.

"Are you ready?" Royuki asked.

"Always," Kai said.

They jumped out of cover, and charged at the Hunters. They shot and stabbed, and killed several of them. But there were too many, and they were outnumbered. Royuki saw a Hunter aiming at him, and he dodged. But he was too late to see another Hunter aiming at Kai. He heard a gunshot, and saw Kai fall to the ground.

"Kai!" Royuki screamed, as he ran to him. He reached him, and saw blood pouring from his chest. He put his hand over the wound, and tried to heal him. But nothing happened. He felt no energy, no warmth. He felt nothing.

"Kai, Kai, stay with me!" Royuki said, shaking him. He looked at his face, and saw his eyes were closed, his smile was gone. He was dead.

Royuki felt a wave of grief and rage wash over him. He looked up, and saw the Hunter who had shot Kai. He was reloading his gun, and had a smirk on his face. He was the leader of the Hunters, the one who had started the war, the one who had killed countless Quitters. He was the enemy.

Royuki felt a surge of power in his veins. He felt his flaming blade ignite in his hand. He felt his eyes glow with fire. He felt his voice roar with fury.

"You killed him! You killed him! You killed them all! I'll kill you!" Royuki shouted, as he got up. He ran towards the Hunter, his blade raised. He dodged the bullets, and slashed the gun. He reached the Hunter, and stabbed him in the chest. He felt the blade pierce his heart, and he felt his blood spill on his hand. He looked into his eyes, and saw fear and pain. He smiled, and twisted the blade.

He heard a loud rumble, and felt the ground shake. He looked around, and saw the base collapsing. He realized it was the final explosion, the one that he had planted in the core of the base. He had set it to go off after a certain time, to ensure the destruction of the Hunters. He had planned to escape before that, but he had failed. He had failed Kai, and the others.

He felt water rushing in, and flames rising up. He felt the ceiling falling down, and the walls closing in. He felt his breath running out, and his vision fading. He felt his life ending, and his soul leaving.

He felt nothing.

He closed his eyes, and whispered.

"I'm sorry, Kai. I'm sorry, everyone. I'm sorry, world."

He died.

The end.
