Chapter 5

Jordan's p.o.v

I was finally done with the girls touch ups when I remembered that I didn't change Lauren's lipstick color.

"Shit. Lauren??" I screamed out as I walked into the girls dressing room.

"Hey Dinah, where's Lauren? I need to change her lipstick color"

"Um the last time I seen her she went upstairs"

"Okay, thanks" I smiled as I started to make my way towards the stairs.

"Lauren??" I shouted.

"Lauren?? Are you up here??" I shouted out once more. As I was about to yell again I heard quiet sobs coming from the restroom. I ran towards the door and listened closely.

"Lauren.. Are you in there?" I softly asked.

"Uh yeah. I'll be out in a minute.." Lauren quietly said.

"Are you okay? Can I come in?" As I asked I heard the door unlock and slightly open. I walked in and saw Lauren looking down while she played with her fingers.

"What's wrong Lauren?"

"I lost it.."

"What do you mean?"

"The ring my grandmother gave me. I misplaced it this morning and now I can't find it. That ring means the world to me. This is going to sound insane, but it's my good luck ring. Without it, I don't feel right."

"No, I get it. It makes you feel complete."

"Can you try to remember the last time you saw it?" I added.

"I left it in my hotel room. I always put it on the counter before I go to sleep, and this morning we were all running late so I forgot to put it on." She said as her voice started to crack again.

"Hey, don't cry. It's going to be okay. You're going to find it okay? I promise you will." I said as I walked towards her.

"Hey, look at me." Lauren gently picked up her head and looked at me. I grabbed a tissue and gently started to clean the tears off of her face.

"Thank god for water proof mascara." I said as Lauren softly giggled.

"Thank you." Lauren said as she put her hand on top of mine, making my heart skip beats.

"It was nothing." I said as I smiled at her.

"Without you calming me down, I would've been a total mess. I mean it Jordan. Thank you." She said as she came in for a hug.

"Of course. I know we barely know each other, but know that I'm here for you." I said as we slowly started to pull away. Our hands were still clanged on to each other while our faces were just inches apart. It's like the whole world stopped around us. Nothing in that moment seemed to matter. All that mattered to me was seeing Lauren happy. I swear I can just about kiss her right now...
