The End of the Party

"Withdrawal?" I ask Gabriel.

"When you kiss someone that you wanted to or simply don't want to play anymore, you can withdraw from the game," Gabriel explains. "In your case, Jack brought you here to kiss you, so now that he got just that, you can both withdraw."

"Oh."

"You wanna withdraw with him?"

"I dunno, I kinda wanna kiss Aaron." I admit.

As if though he heard me, Aaron stops talking to his friends and gives me an embarrassed smile before resuming his conversation.

"Aaron heard me?"

"Conversation flows quickly in these kinds of reunions." Gabriel chuckles.

"Why don't you quit flirting with her?" Jax suggests, pulling me towards him.

"You're too overprotective," Gabriel smirks. "Are you two even together?"

"We are!"

"No, we're not."

Jax covers my mouth with his hand as we continue the game.

Does he want to be with me?

"Alright, onto the sixth round!" Vivi exclaims.

So, while I was talking with Gabriel, the world went on with its course. I look up as Aaron looks down at me.

"Let's get you something to drink."

When I turn to tell Jax, he's gone and so is Gabriel.

"I got their permission before they left for drinks of their own." Aaron assures.

"Okay." I get up with his help.

His hand is surprisingly cold, given how warm it is in the room. I follow him as everyone else continues to play.

"Let's see, from what Jake says you like, a cotton candy flavored drink should work, right?"

"Yeah, but..."

"But what?" Aaron looks at me as he gets out a bunch of ingredients.

A tub of cotton candy, milk and ice cream along with some whipped cream. What can he make from that?

"You don't have to do this, you know?"

"Trust me, even if I didn't want to, I can't really disobey Jake when it comes to orders."

"Is he, like, your groups leader?"

"Not leader, but he's the one who befriended all of us, so we respect the guy." Aaron explains. "And here you are."

"Oh, thank you." I take the glass.

I take a sip and am amazed by the burst of creamy sweetness.

"Oh, it's amazing." I sigh in bliss.

Aaron chuckles at my reaction as he studies me.

"Jake likes you so much because of the kind of person you are," He says quietly. "I didn't think you'd be easy, though."

"I'm not easy!"

"No, you're not, not in that way, at least. In a different way. You're easy to get attached to." Aaron rewords his sentence. "He must've noticed that and easily gotten attached to you. If that's the case, we'll need to take the necessary precautions when you're around us and when you come to places like these. He's the least responsible of all of us."

"Yeah, I'm getting that." I sigh. "You know Jax for long, right?"

"Mhm."

"Has he ever had a girlfriend?"
