The Kooks - Naive

Same Day

6 pm

Harry was sat outside one of the tall buildings where Louis was currently doing his interview for GQ in. The sun has faded and now the sky was a midnight blue where some stars were already sparkling their way through. And about five minutes ago is when Harry got a phone call; telling him that Louis nailed the interview.

As Harry's job, he had to sit and wait for him. The first task was now completed and now onto the second one; selling Louis the city. Ever since he picked up the older boy from the airport, they clicked instantly. Louis told him about his family, how his mother, Jay, and four sisters; Lottie, Fizzy, Daisy and Phoebe, all lived with his grandad because he has Alzheimer’s. And in return Harry told him about his mother, Anne, who he hasn't seen in years, and his sister Gemma, who he's lived with from the age of five when his mother became emotionally unstable. They even talked about relationships, which caused Harry to tell Louis that he was gay, but Louis didn't seem to mind. He told Harry about Eleanor, and how miserable he was starting to feel with his relationship. All in all, they became close in a matter of hours, both boys feeling like they could tell each other anything, and Harry hoped with all his heart that Louis did take the job here, because he did enjoy his company.

“You still here, Curly?”

Harry cringed at the old nickname but nonetheless looked up to see the smiling Louis Tomlinson.

“Yeah, well, it's kind of my job,” Harry laughed. “But d'you mind not calling me that? Nick – he called me that,”

Realization spread all across of Louis' face and nodded his head. “Yeah, right, I get it. How 'bout I come up with a totally new one by the end of the night?”

Harry smiled. “Sounds perfect. So tell me, how'd it go?”

“They bought it! You're safe for a little while longer,”

Harry let out a fake sigh of relief. “Oh, well thank you! I owe you one,” before Louis could say a quirky remark, his phone made a beeping noise, so he pulled it out and looked at the screen.

“Uh...this is from you-”

“It's your offer,” Harry cut in, giving Louis a knowing smile.

Louis gave Harry a disbelieving look. “I-I got it?”

“Yes sir, they called about five minutes ago, congratulations Lou,” Harry said while giving him a clap on the back. “The offer expires at midnight,”

Louis looked at the building he just came out of, to Harry, then to the building, then back at Harry. He held up his phone which still displayed Harry's text, giving Harry an amused look. “Why didn't you just tell me instead of texting me it?”

Harry shrugged his shoulders, giving Louis a wide grin, showing off both dimples. “Thought it'd be more dramatic,” Louis just looked at Harry now, and Harry could tell he was still worried about “shitting the bed” as Lou described it earlier to him. “Lou, you aren't going to shit the bed! I've seen your work, and it's amazing,”

Louis pouted a bit before saying, “It's a huge move! Would you up route your entire life for a job? Be honest,”

Harry didn't even have to hesitate on his answer. “Well no, for a job, probably not. But for New York? Yeah, I would. Which is why I'm not going to sell you the job, but I'm going to sell you on New York,”
