-WHEN DASH WAS 9 YEARS OLD-

Rainbow Dash was listening to her father and mother arguing. She had no idea what they were arguing about but she didn't wish to find out as she went into a closet.

In between the coats in the closet

She held on to that heart-shaped locket

Staring at a family, flawless

But it ain't a pretty picture tonight

Rainbow was shaking as she was holding onto the locket. She was in tears as she was whispering a song.

Mom and daddy just won't stop it

Fighting at the drop of a faucet

Cuts through the walls, catastrophic

She's caught in the crossfire

Puts her hands over her ears

Starts talking through the tears

And she's saying, and she's praying

She started singing it a bit louder as she went outside to sing. Dash was holding the locket still.

I wish words were like little toy guns

No sting, no hurting no one

Just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Yeah, no smoke, no bullets

No kick from the trigger when you pull it

No pain, no damage done

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

And just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Dash was holding the locket and looks at the house as she sang.

Wish there was a white flag waving

Or that they were both just faking

And it was just a game they were playing

Like shoot-'em-up cowboys

Leave the plastic pistols in the front yard

Throw away the scorecard

And just turn off all the noise

She remembered when her parents used to get along. She heard them still yelling at one another.

I wish words were like little toy guns

No sting, no hurting no one

Just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Yeah, no smoke, no bullets

No kick from the trigger when you pull it

No pain, no damage done

(I wish words like were little toy guns)

And just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Toy guns

She was crying as she was singing the song. She hated her parents arguing so much... But it made her who she is now...

Oh, I wish they didn't cut like a knife

I wish they didn't break you inside

I wish they didn't bang, bang

Make you wanna run...

Yeah, like little toy guns

No sting, no hurting no one

Just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Yeah, no smoke, no bullets

No shot from the trigger when you pull it

No pain, no damage done

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

And just a bang, bang rolling off your tongue

(I wish words were like little toy guns)

Toy guns

Oh, like little toy guns

Dash had ran away after that.

-PRESENT-

Dash looked down as she remembered that dreadful day. She hated it. She wished she wouldn't have been there. She got up and got ready to help Applejack with her applebucking for the day. She decided to take a jog there which it was a bit wet because of the thunderstorm that had just passed through but she didn't mind. She jogged up to Sweet Apple Acres to see AJ and the Apple family was still asleep. She smiled a bit and got straight to work but still kept thinking about her past and hummed the song while she worked.

Hope you guys enjoyed this! I thought this would work with Dash because it would explain in my opinion how Dash is now. Anyway hope you enjoyed reading this as I enjoyed writing this at one in the morning where I am :) Enjoy! And Hasbro owns AJ and them and Sweet Apple Acres and Dash. I own the plot of the story and the song belongs to Carrie Underwood. I'll probably do another one-shot soon. I do not think I will be continuing my Equestria Force. Readers who are reading it,I am very sorry. Until next time readers and fans :) -RD
