My heart was beating so fast, I could already feel it falling out of my chest. The heartbeats I heard were as fast as my footsteps as I ran down the dark streets not knowing where to go. I already fell down several times causing a few scratches and bruises on my knees. They already felt numb but, I had to keep gong because they were just right behind me. I had to get far. Far from them.

"Alice!" I heard right behind me. I looked at where the voice came from but no one appeared to be there.

I arrived at a public restroom and banged on the door until it finally opened. I found myself in an unmanaged and filthy restroom. A foul smell exuded from the cubicles and the lights flickered giving the room an eerie feel. Fortunately, the faucets were still working and I was able to wash my face and clean my feet. i gently washed away the dirt from the scratches I got on my knees. The water smelled like rust, probably from being rarely used or by being not used at all.

I looked at myself in the mirror. My face seemed not of a 17 year old. I worried for a while but realized maybe it was just the scratches so I began to wash them off. As I washed my face, I had deep thoughts. I began to think about why I was here. I remembered my goal. My one and only goal was to find him. To find that man that brought me to this situation. That man that ruined my life. I'll kill him with my bare hands and strangle him to death. I'll have that big smile on my face as he takes in his last breath and blood starts gushing out of his mouth, eyes... ears. his blood on my hands splattering all over my body. I'll tear him to pieces and save his eyeballs in a jar and eat them for dinner. I will - get what I deserve. I will - get my revenge.

I may seem like I'm the evil and psychotic one but I'm no comparison to the devil named Vladimir.

I looked inside my coat and found a rusty knife. I dragged it swiftly on a part of my skin. It bled, so I guess it still cuts. It still kills. I ran out of the restroom and saw the people in white uniforms running after me. They didn't seem to see me run out of the restroom so, I took the chance to run far away from them. I saw a white piece of paper on the floor. It was a calling card that may have fell off from one of the guys searching after me. It said, "Golden Yards Retirement Home; Call #12345".

This must be where Vladimir hid. That sick man, hiding behind the brittle image of old people. My heart was beating faster. I knew that I was very close at seeing him.

I arrived at the main road and ran to the middle of the street to stop a cab. I went in and told the address. At the back of the cab, I was able to reminisce.

During my 17th birthday, which was only about 2 months ago, we were having a small dinner. It was just me and my mom and dad when someone knocked on the door. My mom went out to see who it was and came to see at the front door a man wearing a suit. He had brown curly hair, black eyes and stood tall. It was dad's co-worker, Vladimir. He was a chemist just like my dad.

"Well, Vladimir. It's nice of you to stop by," my mom said as she gestured for Vladimir to come in.

Vladimir came in carrying an apple and said, "Alice, I brought you a little gift."

"Thank you!" I said with a big smile.

I immediately started biting into the apple after I got it from him.

They started conversing with each other. They were laughing and were having so much fun. I was happy to see my parents enjoying the company of a friend.
