A few weeks later, Spencer asked you to dinner at a restaurant and you, of course, said yes. You got dressed in a black bralette with a skirt that was striped with peach, white, black, and brown. Then I put on a pair of white sandals. I also put on a holey sweater where you could still see the bralette underneath, however, it was a little hidden now. Checking in the mirror, I approved of how I looked. Spencer is actually coming to pick me up. I sat on my couch and continued to read. I heard a knock at the door and checked the peephole and it was Spencer.
I threw open the door and pulled him in, "Did anyone see you come up here?"
"No, Y/N"
"What about follow you-"
"Y/N, I was very careful. I know you are paranoid, and for good reason, but I promise I was careful."
You let out a breath, "Ok, thank you. I know this is all crazy but I really appreciate all of the effort you've put in."
He nodded and walked over to you, "I'm glad you noticed. I went to the library and researched you a bit and it seems like all of you exboyfriends never wanted to put in effort. Plus if my mom knew I didn't treat my girlfriend like a princess and a queen, I'm pretty sure she'd fly up ear to lecture my ear off," you both chuckled at that.
You gave him a hug, "Thank you again," you let go of him to look at him, "but are you ready for dinner?"
You both left for dinner, Spencer escorting you by the elbow like a true gentleman and him helping you down the stairs. He opened his car door for you before closing it and going to the drivers seat. "You know," I started, "I think after dinner we should just go to your place."
He looks over at you, "Really? Are you sure?"
You nodded, "Yeah I'm sure. I never know who's going to be stalking my house or my apartment just to get a picture with me or of me and whoever I'm with, but, if we go to your place we wouldn't have to worry about that."
Spencer though for just a moment, "I mean, I guess your logic is sound and I wouldn't mind having you over," a smile slowly started to spread on his face.
You grabbed his hand and kissed it, "I'm glad we're on the same page, Spence."
After that little exchange, you had made it to the restaurant. The meal was fast and really delicious. Nothing eventful happened. You even made it to the car, only having to autograph a few napkins for the staff that served you.
Once you made it to the car, you took a deep breath, let it out, and smiled. It was so nice living a somewhat normal life. "What's the smile for, Y/N?"
"You. This. Everything you do for me to calm my stupid paranoia."
"You know," Spencer started, "your paranoia isn't stupid. In fact your paranoia has actually probably helped you a lot. See when we get hurt, emotionally, physically, or mentally, our brains make sure to remember that and then they also remember what led up to that moment. So, when you come up to a situation that looks the same or similar to your brain, your brain sends you signals to try and stop you from getting hurt again."
You chuckle slightly, "You know, I love it when you tell me little facts like that. Not only are they interesting, but they remind me of how smart you are." Although it was hard to tell in the dark, you could see the small blush that appeared on Spencer's face.
Once we made it to his apartment, you automatically looked around to see if you could see a lens or a telescope, but you couldn't. Spencer opened your door again and held out his hand for you. Once you held his hand you could feel the calluses and how firm his hand was. He escorted you up to his apartment on the third floor then unlocked the door for you.
