I Love You

It was a very cold and snowy night, so Neville made sure to wear his warm and cozy jacket. He managed to sneak past Filch and Mrs. Norris to the out doors. Once he got outside, he found a spot under a tree by the lake, where he first discovered Gillyweed. He sat down and took a deep breath and pulled out the flowers from behind his back, as he began to tear up. He wanted to give up on trying to get with Luna, he felt they weren't meant to be together, plus it seemed Luna didn't think of Neville that way. Looking down at the flowers, with drops of tears falling onto them, he suddenly heard foot steps. Has Neville been caught? Would he now have lost Gryffindor points or even be expelled? He didn't care to be honest, he just wanted Luna to love him. Suddenly those foot steps stopped and it sounded like someone had sat down right in front of him, he could feel warmth on his face.

Neville looked up and his heart sank... it was Luna. He quickly wiped his tears away and looked to his side, too embarrassed to look into Luna's eyes. "Neville, are you ok?" She asked as she placed a hand on one of Neville's cheeks. Neville then looked up at her at last. "Luna... how did you know I was here" he asked.
"I saw you walk out, I was also sneaking out for some air and noticed you were here, so now I'm sitting with you" she replied. Luna gave a comforting smile to Neville, which warmed his heart. Then he realised that they were finally alone, no one was going to find them, everyone was asleep. Neville then put his hand out to Luna that had flowers in them. "I was gonna give these to you today, but I didn't get the time" Neville passed the flowers to Luna and she smiled. Luna then put the flowers in her lap. "Neville, I have something for you too" Luna then reached into her bag and pulled out a small plant. Neville froze, and tears streamed down his face. "I know it isn't full size but I saw how much you missed your Mimbulus Mimblentonia, so I found this little guy... a mini Mimbulus Mimblentonia. It's perfect if you want to carry it around with you" Luna grabbed one of Neville's hands and placed the plant in the palm of it, and Neville took it, giving Luna the biggest smile the world has ever seen. He had never realised that Luna cared so much. "Luna... I love you..." Neville stared into Luna's sparkly, blue eyes. Luna stared back. Suddenly, Luna leant forward and placed her lips on Neville's lips. Neville's eyes widen, surprised that Luna had done this, but he then closed his eyes to enjoy the kiss, while leaning closer on Luna. They then parted, and Luna smiled. "I love you too Neville" she said, as she scotched to the side of Neville and put her head on his shoulder, where Neville put an arm around her and leaned his head on top of hers. They stared out to the lake, where the star covered sky reflected on the water, and enjoyed the company and comfort of each other, as they gazed at the plant they got for each other.
