"Where the fuck are we?" Connor asked quietly and he still hadn't let go of Victoria's hand ever since she offered it. It made it easier to give her electric shocks or at least, that was what he told himself anyways.

"Just keep driving." Garrett muttered from the backseat and Victoria now had loud music blasting in one of her earbuds, trying to keep herself awake.

"Do you know where we are?" Connor asked and Victoria nodded. "Just keep on driving?" He asked and she was nodding, focusing on keeping herself from bleeding any more from the two bullets that were currently imbedded in her skin.

"Yeah. Keep driving." Victoria murmured and Connor zapped her again, even harder this time after her eyes had begun to close and Victoria was jolted wide awake. "Kid, you okay?" Victoria asked as she turned around awkwardly to look at Pav, who was glaring out of the window and Victoria sighed. Victoria winced and pulled out her earbuds and after cleaning them off, she held them out to Pav.

The girl looked at Victoria with wide eyes, before Victoria smiled faintly and Pav took the earbuds and the cellphone, as she was putting it into her ears and Victoria was turning back around in her seat to stare straight ahead again.

They pulled into the building and Garrett raised his eyebrows, surprised to see that the lights were on and Victoria winced, getting out of the car and nearly falling over. Pav caught her with a grunt and Victoria was shaking, wincing with pain as Garrett was walking into the house and immediately, he was thrown back out of it.

Jordan and Griff were standing in the doorway and Jordan had a new headband, clearly it was made of metal and Connor moved to help Victoria who was wincing as her control finally started to slip. "Guys!" Connor said, practically shouting at them and their eyes went wide at the sight of Victoria being shot and injured. "Yell at Garrett later, help Victoria now!" He suggested as Jordan threw the door open and they were rushing her inside.

"Don't let the kids see. Go." Jordan said to Griff, who was taking off down the hallway ahead of them and herding all of the kids into a separate room, while Jordan was clearing a path into the nearest bathroom.

"Where the fucking hell did all of these people suddenly come from?" Connor asked and he was sitting Victoria against the wall while Jordan was pulling Victoria's hoodie off and Victoria gritted her teeth.

"We put out a general alarm call as soon as we knew, that the K-9 had caught Victoria on video and that they would be coming after her. We moved everybody, before they could even give us a sign that they knew." Jordan said and she was looking at Victoria. "I'm sorry Tori, but this is really going to hurt." She muttered and Victoria nodded.

"Just do it." Victoria ordered and Jordan focused, narrowing her ferrokinetic powers to the bullets and Connor offered one of his hands to her. Which ultimately proved to be a mistake on his part, since Victoria was attempting to break his hand as she cried out in pain. The taps burst just as Jordan finally got the bullets out of her.

"Hey, good job." Jordan said and Victoria gritted her teeth, before she was focusing her own abilities on sealing up the bullet wounds, while Jordan was tossing the bullets into the sink as Connor was getting the first aid kit.

Victoria was getting new clothes from Heather's stash of clothing and silently, she was looking around at the building and she was shaking her head, before she was walking over to a picture on the wall and she used a bit of water to knock it off of the wall, landing at her own feet.

"Did that picture do something to you?" Victoria glanced over at Connor, who was silently shaking his head. "You should be sitting down, or resting. You got shot twice today and all of your people are safe." He said and she was reaching into the hole in the wall where the picture had been sitting and she was pulling out a photograph.

"They won't be safe until we bring King down." Victoria remarked and Connor was shaking his head. "If you were to take the kid and run for the border, I won't judge you. But I am not leaving without King in handcuffs." She stated as she sat down on the couch that looked like it had seen better days and Connor looked at the photo that she was holding in her hands. "I won't drag my people into an all-out war, if they don't want to help."

"But you will walk into one either way." Connor said and Victoria shrugged at the words, before she winced in pain and she was grumbling something. "You got the moral compass and Garrett, he is just..."

"A fucking parasite that uses anyone and everyone in order to get ahead?" Victoria guessed and Connor turned to look at her, honestly surprised that she knew about it and Victoria scoffed very quietly as she shook her head humorlessly. "Griff was following you and Pav, once I heard that you had gotten dragged back into the mess." She muttered.

"Are you mad at me for something?" Connor asked and she was looking over at him. "I have the sense that you're angry at me for something, or at least, annoyed at the very least."

"I'm not angry." Victoria replied as she was putting the photo onto what remained of the wobbly-looking nightstand. "I just don't get why you would go to Garrett first. You knew his track record for stuff like this, you knew that he would probably try to fuck you guys over and you still went to him anyways."

"He still owed me for the time I did inside for him and everybody else, so I guess I thought that he would actually help for a change with no strings attached." Connor admitted and Victoria was shaking her head, before she was sitting down again. "You think I'm stupid." He said and she was shrugging, before she was wincing again.

"No." Victoria stated and Connor lifted his eyebrows at the words. "But I do think, that your friend Mina was right. That you can be very stupid, but at least your heart is usually in the right place." She said and Connor narrowed his eyes.

"Name one time when it hasn't been..."

"When you temporarily paralyzed me to get to Nia and Jordan. Then not twenty minutes later you were holding a gun to my side, while Nia was in incredible pain trying to take your mother's cancer onto herself." Connor winced and Victoria sighed. "I didn't mean that." She said and Connor nodded.

"You're in pain. Hell, not many people would still be awake after that. Garrett is currently drinking his way through the alcohol that I'm guessing Jordan and her partner brought with them?" Connor questioned and Victoria nodded. "I should have gone to you guys first and I'm sorry that I didn't. I'm also sorry, that you guys had to rescue me again." Victoria laughed, before she was grunting in pain.

"Ow. Jesus Christ." Victoria said as she was carefully lifting up her shirt and she was silently looking down at her rib cage, which was bruising and she cursed. "Somehow the pain from the bullets, made me forget about the broken fucking rib." She muttered and Connor nodded.

"Yeah, pain works in weird and annoyingly mysterious ways." Connor remarked casually and Victoria was shaking her head at the words, trying not to smile or trigger laughter and he offered her a hug. Victoria accepted it as she was finally being allowed to sleep, as per Jordan and Connor's very limited medical skills.

They were all battered and bruised, but they were still alive, at least.
