The Beautiful View

You were still laying down with the dog next to you, zoning out into space, with a small amount of blush present on your face from those past memories. You might have been thinking back to those memories for some time considering that both Sally and L.J. had fallen asleep watching the cartoons, even though the sun wasn't even down yet. As you laid there for a little while longer, trying to ignore the loud snorting and sloppy inhales from that clown sprawled out on the recliner. You were thrown out from your daze by the thumping of the stairs and Smiledog hears and glances up at the said person. You look up as well and see the very person you were thinking about for the past few minutes. Eyeless Jack glances at you and the others in the living room, and makes his way for the front door.

"Where are you going EJ?" you say as he turns to you, stopping him from grabbing the handle and retreating his hand to look back at you. It was odd that someone was leaving, considering it was a 'break' day and we both had enough food, so there was no need to leave.

"Going for a walk." He replied simply, 'looking' down to you on the floor through his mask. Well, since you're bored as hell, it would be nice to get some fresh forest air.

"Can I go with you?" you say standing up stretching your arms from laying on the wooden floor for some time.

"That's fine." he answered. You grab your jacket that was hanging off the back of the couch and walked to the door as he opens it for you. The two of you go outside in the woods. Jack leads the way as he goes to a certain path in the forest, it was a path you have never seen before. You try to keep up with his quick pace as you go up the pathway of the trail. The tall trees make a canopy over the both of you, only some empty patches of the leaves let the soon to set sun shine onto the floor of the woods. You came upon a small shallow river, Jack doesn't hesitate and jumped to rock to rock making his way across the creek. You follow behind as well, stepping on the rocks trying your best not to embarrass yourself by falling in the water on your ass. Struggling, you see Jack looking at you on the other side of the shallow river stopping and lightly laughing at your struggle. Leveling your balance, your hope across the remaining rocks to the other side.

"Shut up." you say puffing your cheeks out in a small smirk. He chuckles a bit more and you continue to going up the path. You had to step over some fallen logs from dead trees, but you managed to keep your balance this time. Sooner or later, you reached the end of the path. It was on a cliff looking down on the valley of the woods facing the west. You could see the horizon where the light peachy-blue sky ends where it touches the dark green forest. Gazing at the beautiful view for awhile, you see Jack go and sit on a half sawed off log on its side, he was facing the view too. You jog up to him and sit beside the eyeless teen.

"This place is amazing Jack!" You start still looking down at the valley. " How long have you know this place for?" you ask turning your head form the view back to the masked teen next to you.

"I don't really know how long," he answered turning to 'look' at you behind his mask. "I just found this place following the path, so I decided to make this my place, well because no one else knew about it." he finished.

"Well, it's not much your place anymore, since I know how to get here now." you giggle looking back at the colorful clouds painted with the variety of colors.

"I guess your right." he mumbled, and as if it was planned again, both of your stomachs groan and growl. You both let out a chuckle, remembering the closet you both hid in those many years ago.

"I think we should head home to get some grub." you say, easing off your giggles.

"There's no need," he said, stopping you from standing up from the log. He reached inside his jacket pocket, and pulled out, his personal favorite, a kidney. "It's not much, but we can eat it while we can watch the view." he said, ripping the small kidney in half, handing you the slightly larger piece. As you take it in your hands, you see Jack move his mask up, only to show his mouth as he takes a small bite.
