Sister's New Roommate || Jack Hughes

Carson's POV:

"C its time to wake up" Jack whispers in my ear, brushing hair from my face. I groan and flip over the other way, not wanting to get up yet. He continues to pester me until I sit up with an annoyed expression on my face.

"Hey don't be pissed at me. I want to say bye before we leave" Jack says to the reaction on my face. "What?!" I say, tears forming in my eyes. I forgot they had to leave today to start their season. 

"Carson don't cry, please" Jack says sitting beside me on the bed. "But I don't want you to leave!" I cry out, tears falling from my eyes.

Jack makes me face him and wipes the tears from my eyes. He pulls me into his chest so my head is on his shoulder. I'm quite literally sobbing into his shirt definitely making it all wet and snotty. 

"Hey listen, we'll FaceTime when I get back and plan when we'll see each other next, ok?" he asks me, pulling his shoulder back so I have to look up at him. 

Nodding my head, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in for a hug. We stay like this till Quinn tells Jack they need to get downstairs to catch their car. 

"We're gonna plan something and I'll call you every night, ok?" Jack assures me as he grabs his backpack. 

"Ok Jacky" I say, trying to give him a small smile. "Please stop crying" he tells me, wiping the last of my tears away. 

"I will. Promise" I say. "Ok, I'll call you when your class ends today" he says before placing a kiss on my lips. I wrap my arms around his neck and bring him in for one last hug. 

"I love you Jack" I whisper in his ear.  "I love you too pretty girl" he whispers before pulling away.

Sadie and I watch the boys leave before plopping down on the bed besides each other. "What was all that crying about C?" Sadie asks from beside me.

"I- I don't know. I think I'm getting my period soon" I say with a shrug. 

We gather our stuff from the hotel and head back to our dorm to shower and change. We have time to stop for breakfast before our class starts. 

"Bye Sade's I'll see you back at the room" I tell her as I stand up to head to my class. She gives me a smile and a wave, cleaning her stuff up as well and heading to her class. 

- TIME SKIP TO BACK TO DORM -

Carson's POV:

Just as I get back to my dorm my phone buzzes with Jacks contact information coming up. Clicking accept I position my phone on my desk and pull out my laptop.

"Hey! How was class?" Jack asks. "It was alright, kinda boring" I say with a shrug.

"Are you super busy right now or can you talk?" he asks noticing my laptop. "I'll just do my homework later, I wanna talk to you" I tell him, turning my full attention to him. 

"Are you ok from earlier?" he asks concern laced in his voice. "Yeah I just got my period like a few hours ago so I think it was that" I say with a shrug. He nods his head not really sure of what to say after that statement. 

"So what does your schedule look like?" I ask him.

"I play CBJ at the end of October" he says pulling up his schedule. "Is that Columbus?" I ask not know who the hell CBJ is.

"Oh sorry yeah it is. We get in the night of the 16th and then play the 17th and after we go up to Detroit" he says.

"So Sadie and I are definitely going to the game here. I'll look at tickets with her when she gets back" I tell him excitedly. 

"No need I just bought you two tickets" he says nonchalantly. "Jack?! Sadie and I can pay!" I tell him. 

"Well maybe Sadie should pay me back but not you" he cheekily says.

"Jack" I say grateful but annoyed. "Come on C. I like doing this stuff so you can focus on school and not have to work to pay for things I want you to attend" he explains.

"Thank you for the tickets Jack" I say with a smile. He nods and tells me he'll send them to me once he gets them the day of. 

"I don't want that to be the only day we plan tho. I'll only see you for like a few hours" I tell him. "Whens your next break?" he asks, scrolling through his schedule again. 

"Its Thanksgiving" I say looking at my calendar on the wall.  "Luke and I have off for five days during that time!" he says sitting up straight.

"I was gonna go home and visit my family since Sadie's going with Alex to LA" I tell him. "Or you three fly out here and spend Thanksgiving with Luke and I in the city. We don't have enough space for them but there are hotels two minutes away" Jack says, typing away on his phone. 

"Oh that's such a good idea, we've never been to New York City before. Let me text them to ask if they want to" I say, texting out a quick message to my mom. 

Jack and I talk about a bunch of random things to pass the time until my mom responds. "She said her and dad would love that!" I say excitedly. 

"Good because I already bought the tickets and their hotel" he slyly says. "Jack!" I practically scream at him.

"No, stop. I won't hear about it. I asked you guys to fly so I'm paying" he rushes out before I can speak anymore. "Thank you Jack. This means a lot" I say. 

Jack and I talk for another hour before Sadie comes back to the room and I hang up to go have dinner. 

Walking down the stairs towards the exit, we notice a confused looking guy standing outside the door with flowers. "Hi do you need help?" Sadie asks him.

"Uh yeah some guy ordered these to this dorm and didn't tell me how to get in" he says to us. "Who are they for? Maybe we can take them to their room" I suggest.

"A uh Ms. Carson Williams?" he says looking down at the tag.

My face reddens from embarrassment before telling him that's my name. I show him my student ID card to prove it then he hands over the flowers. 

Spinning the flowers around I look for the card.

I know today has been a rough day

With me leaving and your period and everything

So I hope these flowers make today better

"Your brother is something else" I tell Sadie with a smile.

We run back upstairs to our dorm so I can put the flowers in a vase, then we go to dinner in the dining hall. I'm waiting for Sadie to choose her food so I send Jack a quick message.
