Leaving the group home without Elliot was the hardest thing Louis had done in his entire life. Knowing that that sweet little boy was his son and that he couldn't take him home yet was heartbreaking. So as soon as they left, he begged Patricia to please do whatever it took for the judge to set the hearing date as soon as possible, and Patricia said she'd try everything in her power to do it.

Still, that night Louis cried himself to sleep, while Harry reassured him that Elliot would be with them soon, and that everything would be okay.

It was Thursday, when they heard news again, as Patricia called to say that the court date had been set for Tuesday next week, but in the meantime a new visit had been approved for Saturday morning, which gave them a huge sense of relief, because it meant things were happening, and Elliot wouldn't have to be alone for much longer.

When Saturday came, Harry's parents offered to take Ollie to do something fun with him, and so they were free to go see Elliot workout worrying about Ollie.

As they arrived to the home that day, there were a lot more kids, at least 15 more, and they were a bit older that Elliot, but not by much. It was raining a little today, though, so none of the kids were outside, and they met Elliot in the living room, where he was sitting on his own with his stuffed raccoon, and he was watching as other kids played with cars.

"Hi, Elliot" Louis smiled at him "How are you? Do you remember us?".

Elliot looked at Louis, and then at Harry, and then he nodded.

"We missed seeing you so much" Harry told him.

Elliot seemed more comfortable with them this time around, and they were able to get a few words out of him this time, but mostly 'yes' and 'no'. But what really got to Louis was that, when it was time for them to leave, Elliot hugged him tightly, as if he was asking him not to go.

"We'll see you again as soon as we can, baby" Louis told him as he hugged him back, and tried to blink away the tears that gathered in his eyes.

He wanted to tell him more; he wanted to tell him that they would bring him home, that he would be loved forever, but he knew he had to be careful with what he said.

"Bye, beautiful boy" Louis said as he let go and kissed his forehead.

"Noo" Elliot said sadly.

That broke Louis' heart into a million pieces, and even more when he realized how upset Elliot looked.

"Come here" Harry said and picked him up in his arms, and held him tightly.

Louis watched his husband while he whispered something in their son's ear, knowing that he was doing his best to try to calm Elliot down, just like he always did with Ollie.

By the time Harry put Elliot down, he looked less upset, but when they said goodbye again, Elliot burst into tears, and that's when one of the people who worked there had to intervine, and she picked up Elliot and took him upstairs.

"I can't do this again" Louis said as he came out of the house crying "I can't ever come back here and leave him".

"I know, Lou" Harry replied, his eyes were glossy with tears as well.

"He should be able come home with us now!" Louis demanded "I need him with me".

"Soon, my love" Harry said and hugged him "He'll be with us soon".

It took a lot for them to be able to calm down enough to drive away, because they knew going meant leaving Elliot again, which was too hard to even think about.

That night, Louis had to bring Ollie to the main bedroom, and he had him sleep in the middle of the bed, because he couldn't beat the thought of not even having one of his sons with him.
