Today is the day that Jack and I are going on our first date. I have no idea what we are doing today, he just told me to dress casually.

He said he'd pick me up at 5 and it's currently only noon so I am doing the only thing that would possibly come to mind to pass time, laying on the couch and binge watching the Maze Runner because Dylan O'Brien and Thomas Brodie Sangster are absolutely smoking.

Time flies when your watching hot men running through a maze and a desert and before I realize, it's 4:00 which means it's time for me to get ready.

I pick out a white crop top and a blue wash pair of jeans shorts. I grab my earrings, apple watch, anklet, necklace and bracelet to put in with it. I straighten my hair and pin it back before doing my makeup.

I just put on my shoes when I hear the doorbell ring. Taking a deep breath to calm myself down I walk downstairs and open the door.

"Wow! You look gorgeous!" Jack says with a big smile. "These are for you" he says while handing me a bouquet of lilies.

"Thanks Jack! You want to come in while I put these in a vase?"

He nods and comes in the apartment behind me. I go to the kitchen and fill a vase up putting the flowers on my kitchen island.

Walking back out to the main hall I see Jack looking around my apartment and at all the pictures hanging in the wall.

"Where are we going?" I ask as we leave my apartment and make our way outside.

"You'll just have to wait and see sunshine" Jack says teasingly as he opens the car door for me.

"What a gentleman, thanks Jack!" I say smiling.

He smiles before closing the door and going to the driver's seat. He starts playing Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams and more good artists in the ride there which has me smiling and giggling because he remembered the artists that I liked.

My whole face lights up when I see that he brought me to the carnival. I always loved carnivals growing up. I would go every year.

"Jack! This is so sweet! How'd you know that I love carnivals?" I asked.

He just smiles. "Your brother told me you always loved carnivals when you were growing up so I thought this would be perfect."

I reach over the centre console and hug him tightly. "Thank you!" I say.

"Your welcome! Now let's go, we have lots of rides to go on!" He says hopping out of the car and coming over to my side to open the door for me again.

I smile at him excitedly and grab his hand before quickly leading him over to the ticket line. The line goes quicker than I thought and soon we're at the front.

"Two tickets please." Jack says.

The worker nods. "That'll be 32.40 please." He says.

I reach into my bag to get my card out when I hear the beep of the machine. I look up to see Jack taking his card back and smiling at me.

"Aww Jack you didn't have to pay." I say.

"I wanted to sunshine. I'm taking you on this date so I'm paying." He says.

We make our way into the fairgrounds and work our way over to the ticket booth for the rides. We get 20 tickets to split between the two of us.

"Jack! Can we go on the swings please?" I say grabbing his arm and pointing excitedly at the swings.

He laughs and nods before grabbing my hand and pulling me over there which instantly gives me butterflies. The line goes quickly and soon enough we're getting into a paired up seat and buckling in.

"Is now a good time to tell you I'm afraid of heights?" Jack says nervously.

"Jack. Why didn't you say anything earlier? We didn't have to go on here." I say looking at him in shock.

"I know but I wanted to come on with you, I'm just a little nervous now." He says with a smile. I smile back at him and grab his hand intertwining out fingers and leaning my head on his shoulder hoping to calm him down.

The ride starts and we start spinning and going higher into the air. Jack's hold on my hand tightens.

"Hey Jack look at me. Your okay, I'm right here." I saw softly while smiling at him.

He smiles at me and nods. We both look out as the sun starts setting in the distance making the sky have splatches of purples, pinks, and oranges across the entire sky.

Soon enough the ride comes to an end and we're both on solid ground again. "You okay?" I ask Jack.

He nods. "Ya. Thank you!"

"Where to next?" I ask him. He smiles and me, grabs my hand and starts walking to a game booth. You get three beanbags and you have to knock the teeth down out of a lion's mouth. Jack gets them all and wins a big panda teddy.

He thanks the worker and turns to me with the teddy in his hand. "This is for you!" He says with a big smile on his face.

"Thank you Jack!" I say with a huge smile before hugging him tightly.

We spend a few more hours at the fair going on more rides and playing more games before we leave.

On the way home Jack and I hold hands and just talk about little things. We arrive back at my apartment and Jack quickly gets out and opens my door for me again. When we get to my apartment I turn around to face him.

"Thank you for everything Jack! Tonight was really fun!" I say with a smile adorning my face.

He smiles at me. "No problem sunshine."

We make eye contact and we both start to lean in. Our lips meet and not to get all cringy but it feels like magic. I swear my heart is beating like crazy. When we pull away my face is flushed and Jack has a huge smile on his face.

"Goodnight Y/N" he says.

"Goodnight Jack!" I say before walking into my apartment and watching him leave. Best date ever.
