As the class ended, Eunchae took her bags and walked down the hallway, still tingling about the note she just received.
"Was it really for me? Is it just a mistake? UGH I DON'T KNOW"
As Eunchae was making her way to class, she saw Niki walking down the hall with his friend. Something about his presence commanded her attention, and she couldn't help but look twice. For a moment, it seemed like time had stopped, and she was the only one who could see him.
Niki was tall, and his hair was a messy brown, blowing in the breeze. His eyes were a deep brown, and they seemed to peer right through her. Eunchae felt her heart racing, and she could barely breathe. It was as if the world had gone silent, and she was trapped in a moment of time
Her breath caught as she met Niki's eyes, the two of them frozen for a moment in the middle of the hallway. Eunchae couldn't believe it was really him, the person who had been sending her notes. Suddenly, Niki started to walk towards her, Eunchae felt a surge of fear, and she turned to run. But before she could take a step, Nanami appeared.
She felt like she had just seen the savior of HER LIFE. Eunchae quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her away. She felt a surge of relief, and she led Nanami down the hall.
Nanami looked at Eunchae with a worried expression. "Are you okay? You looked like you were about to faint," she said.
Eunchae couldn't help but laugh, a nervous laugh that threatened to turn into tears. "I'm fine," she said, still feeling her heart racing. "I just...I just saw someone...and I got scared."
Nanami looked at Eunchae, and she could see the concern in her eyes. "Who did you see?" she asked, her voice soft.
Eunchae hesitated for a moment, feeling the note crinkle in her pocket. She knew she couldn't tell Nanami the truth, not yet. "No one," she said finally. "It was just a mistake."
As Eunchae and Nanami made their way to the next classroom, and Eunchae couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that she hadn't told her friend about the note yet. She knew she'd need to figure out a better way to explain it before she could share the truth with anyone.
As they walked, Nanami's curiosity got the best of her, and she couldn't resist asking Eunchae about the strange moment in the hallway. "But why was he looking at us like that?" she said, her voice sounding a little worried.
Eunchae sighed, feeling the weight of the secret on her shoulders. "I don't know," she said. "I think he was...interested in me."
Nanari's eyes widened with surprise. "What? You mean he likes you?"
Eunchae, feeling a little embarrassed. "NO. Maybe he wanted to ask me something? Ugh you know what just forget it"
"But like, Nanami, if you have a chance, would you date Niki?" Eunchae hesitated
Nanami looked at Eunchae with a mix of disbelief. "Why are you asking?"
"Just wondering, but answer me." Replied Eunchae, totally not freaking out.
"Well, to be honest, I wouldn't date him, he's real popular and there're a lot of girls trying to get with him, you don't want to get in trouble.."
Eunchae after hearing her friend's response feels a mix of emotions. On one hand, she was pleased that someone like Niki might be interested in her. But on the other hand, she knew that dating him could make things complicated, especially if he had girls going around.
"I'm not sure," she said finally.
Nanami went quiet for a second, suddenly she excitedly leaned over to Eunchae. "Ayee Eunchae why are you so interested in Niki" she asked, a twinkle in her eye.
Eunchae blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and happiness. "I'm just curious," she said, trying to play it cool.
Nanami just chuckled. "Don't worry, Eunchae. I won't judge you for having a crush on Niki," she said, giving Eunchae a wink and then running away, laughing
Eunchae blushed even harder, feeling a surge of flattery at the compliment. "NO I'M NOT," she said, trying to brush the comment off as she chased Nanami down the hall.
Eunchae couldn't focus in her classes that day, no matter how hard she tried. Her mind was flooded with thoughts of Niki and his confession, and she couldn't seem to shake them off.
As the school day drew to a close, Eunchae decided to take action. She pulled out a small piece of paper and wrote down her thoughts, determined to let Niki know how she felt. The letter was a simple one, explaining that she felt like she didn't know Niki well enough to accept his confession.
She folded the note carefully and slipped it into her pocket. After classes, Eunchae made her way to Niki's locker, trying to not be spotted, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. She found his locker and slipped the note into a hidden compartment, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
But as she rounded the corner, she heard the sound of voices coming from a direction. Sounds like.. NIKI. Desperate to avoid them, Eunchae turned and started to run, but her nerves got the better of her and she tripped, making a loud noise as she fell to the ground.
To her horror, Niki and his friends turned to see what had happened, and Eunchae felt her face turn bright red with embarrassment. Niki quickly ran to her and helped her up, asking if she was okay, but Eunchae was too embarrassed to even look at him. She simply nodded, picked up her things, and ran away, her heart racing with nerves.
Ugh Eunchae, why are you always doing stupid shit to embarrass yourself. She thought to herself as she ripped her hair, screaming in embarrassment.
As soon as she was out of sight, she slowed her pace and tried to catch her breath. She felt like she had just made a fool of herself, and she feared that Niki would think she was some kind of weirdo.
On the locker, Niki found the note from Eunchae. He felt a mix of excitement and curiosity as he read it. He don't know the person he likes, ironic right, but she had left a note for him, replying to his confession, WHICH IS A GOOD SIGN AYEE.
Niki hesitated for a moment, not knowing what to do. He had never received a note like this before, and he wasn't sure how to respond. But there was something about this girl's words that made him want to find out more about her.
He looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of her somewhere in the hallway. But there was no sign of her. He felt a pang of disappointment - he had hoped to see her and talk to her. From the moment he saw her, sitting at the desk next to the window, reading his favourite book while covering her face, his heart has been stolen.
Niki closed his locker and began walking down the hallway, his mind racing with thoughts of Eunchae and her note. He didn't know what to expect, but he was not giving up.
