I was about to enter the big house just as soon as the new kid woke up in his deck chair. Apparently he had fought the minotaur the night before. At least that's what Annabeth told me. I'm Y/N Kagneo, Son of Zeus and Rina Kagneo. You'll get to know me more later, but right now I'm telling you about my experience with the "new kid". "So," I said "I'm Y/N Kagneo. You?"

"Percy Jackson." He answered, he sounded unsure, talking to me ,he went to grab the glass next to him as I noticed Grover next to us. "Careful" He said then acknowledged me, nodding in my direction. "You saved my life." Grover spoke then said ""I . . . well, the least I could do . . . I went back to the hill. I thought you might want this." He gave Percy the shoebox, with the minotaur horn inside it. "The Minotaur," Percy said. "Um, Percy, it isn't a good idea—""That's what they call him in the Greek myths, isn't it?" Percy  demanded. "The Minotaur. Half man, half bull." Grover shifted uncomfortably. "You've been out for two days. How much do you remember?" "My mom. Is she really . . ."He looked down. My face fell as Percy said that, I knew what it was like to lose someone. "I'm sorry," Grover sniffled. "I'm a failure. I'm—I'm the worst satyr in the world." He moaned, stomping his foot so hard it came off. I mean, his Converse hi-top came off. The inside was filled with Styrofoam, except for a hoof-shaped hole. "Oh, Styx!" he mumbled.

I spoke up. "Don't say that Grover...you tried your best..." Percy jumped in,  "It wasn't your fault." "Yes, it was. I was supposed to protect you." "Did my mother ask you to protect me?" "No. But that's my job. I'm a keeper. At least . . . I was." "But why . . ." Percy suddenly looked dizzy. "You good dude" I asked. "Don't strain yourself," Grover said. "Here." Before I knew it, he'd drained the glass. I stared into it. He must've loved whatever it tasted like, it's different for every demigod. "Was it good?" Grover asked. He nodded. "What did it taste like?" I asked sounding so wistful. "Sorry," He said. "I should've let you taste. "My eyes got wide. "No! That's not what I meant. I just . . . wondered." "Chocolate-chip cookies," Percy said. "My mom's. Homemade." Grover sighed. "And how do you feel?" "Like I could throw Nancy Bobofit a hundred yards." "That's good," he said. "That's good. " He said reassuring himself. "I don't think you could risk drinking any more of that stuff." "True that." I threw in. "What do you mean?" Percy questioned. "Never mind that Percy." I looked to Grover "Do they want to see him?"

Grover nodded and said, "Come on. Chiron and Mr. D are waiting. "The porch wrapped all the way around the farmhouse. "Bye guys!" I yelled as they walked away.  I was about to walk away when I ran into Annabeth, my ultimate best friend, but major crush. I just couldn't admit, even though I was a supposed to be a confident, tall son of Zeus. I looked it too. I was Asian like my mother but, I held a few features of Zeus, his tan skin and dark, storm like hair. You could tell I was Asian by my last name. Kagneo,  影のフィールド in Japanese. I had my one of my mother's dark brown eyes and one lightning blue eye like Zeus'. I was 5'8 at the age of 13, which is taller than most but I get my height from Zeus. "Hey Annie" I said, "heading to Mr. D and Chiron?" "Yeah." She replied like it was obvious "You comin' N/N?" she asked me. I nodded "C'mon Annie, let's get you acquainted with Mr. Percy Jackson." We stood behind Mr. D and Chiron, quietly. "That's Mr. D," Grover murmured to Percy. "He's the camp director. Be polite. The girl, that's Annabeth Chase. She's just a camper, but she and Y/N have been here longer than just about anybody. And you already know Chiron. . . ."Grover pointed at the guy whose back was to Percy.

"Mr. Brunner!" Percy cried. The Latin teacher turned and smiled at him. His eyes had a mischievous glint. "Ah, good, Percy," he said. "Now we have four for pinochle. "He offered Percy a chair to the right of Mr. D, who looked at him with bloodshot eyes and heaved a great sigh. "Oh, I suppose I must say it. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. There. Now, don't expect me to be glad to see you." "Uh, thanks." Percy scooted a little farther away from Mr. D. "Annabeth?, Y/N?" Mr. Brunner called to Annabeth and me. We came forward and Mr. Brunner introduced us to Percy. "This young lady nursed you back to health, Percy. I think you already met Y/N here, only living child of the big three gods, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades." The air got tense when he said 'living' "Annabeth, my dear, why don't you go check on Percy's bunk? We'll be putting him in cabin eleven for now." Annabeth said, "Sure, Chiron." I then mumbled, "Even though we just got here, but sure!" Annabeth gave Percy a goodbye, the goodbye of pointing out a flaw ,"You drool when you sleep." and she sprinted off. "Bye Percy!" I sprinted off, catching up with Annabeth quickly. "So...why are you giving him the cold shoulder?" I questioned her "Maybe he's the one Chiron was talking about..." "Ok Annie, I get you want a quest but it could also be a whole different kid..." "Maybe it is though...c'mon let's check on new boy's bunk and Luke." "Ok..." I sighed giving up, it's impossible to change her mind.
