Oh no. Here he comes. I got out of my bed. Forgoing extra sleep from having a sleepless night. What the hell did I do? I followed protocol. Did all but go to CPS. And he tells me that I am causing problems?
"Yes...Mr. Williams?" Like what do you want? You already got me doubting myself and the smell of that cologne....
He said he was glad that I came. Okay.
"I was going through your attendance and I noticed that ten of your students have a consecutive number of unexcused absences for this quarter. I need you to be get in contact with their parents..." he stated.
The hell? I have tried and most of the parents were not available.
" Ms. Anderson, we don't want to have to get the officials involved...so I know you may have some of their excuses they have brought in floating on your desk."
This real live Son of a Bitch. Only two of the those students out of the ten turned in excuses.
"I have got in contact with the parents. Two of the ten turned theirs in ....the others parents are not answering their phones or emails. I turned the excuses into the attendance clerk." I know Ms Betty took them from my hand.
"She said she didn't received them." He replied. "I need you to work on getting those excuses."
I groaned inwardly. Ms. Lott, the older janitor came up as he left.
"He giving you a hard time?"she asked. I sighed. Ms Betty was 65, short with a gold teeth. "You are new and he is trying to break you in....he been on my ass all day. This place can't get no cleaner. It's only a few babies that came today. I could have been going to the casino now..." she continued. We both laughed.
I moved to my room. I was finished with my students for today.I looked around and decided to do some decorating.
Since it was going into fall I was going to do a cornucopia. I didn't want to buy anything so I had some construction paper of different colors matching Fall colors. I was somewhat of an artist so I drew my leaves and cut them out.
I heard a knock and looked up it was Sharon Young.
"Hey, I getting ready to leave...you did that?" She exclaimed gushing about my artistic skill.
We talked of her boys and the fact that we had to be at work on a Saturday.
"He's been like that since his wife left him for one of his Frat brothers..." Sharon informed me.
"What?" I exclaimed. "Yeah...that's why he messing with the Mayor's wife. But I think they are some kinda swingers." She continued. Gurl, spill the tea.
"They have these sex parties at The Black House...from what I hear Williams is a killer in the bed and he's packing...."
"Chile....I thought he was deprived." I squealed. Sharon was red with giggles and amusement. "Last Valentine's his office was full of flowers women sent him. And the kicker is some of these women are big time. Some are on the school board. You see the suits he wears... the shoes...no Principal's salary..."Sharon informed.
"Oh no Homeboy out here slinging and selling.." I gushed. Sharon was red and shaking with laughter. We both was laughing.
I know he was smooth by the way he walk but I was seeing Mitchell Williams in a different light.
"That's why he's all into the Board's bullshit. They all fucking each other. Our tax dollars being spent on dildos..." she continued giggling.
"And the butt plugs.." I interjected. We keeled over in laughter.
I left the school to the local grocery store. I ran into Joshua Bodeen's parents on the wine aisle. I wanted to speak to them about Joshua being a little bully.
Mr. Bodeen was a real John Deere driving tobacco chewing good ol' boy. He didn't take to discussing his son with me. Mrs. Bodeen was sweet and quiet.
"I will talk to him...." Mr. Bodeen replied giving me an irritated look. "I am big about my boy's education." Mrs. Bodeen, seem very nervous replied, "I don't know what has got into Joshua lately..." He looked at her with a scowl. She immediately back away. Wow!
"Well, I am going to be getting in his little a...." He stated. She cut him off by elbowing him timidly. I quickly wrapped it up with my availability for contact and made my way down the wine aisle. I found a bottle of Stella Rose.
"Hello... there..." a familiar voice greeted. I looked up.
"Oh...Mr. Williams...." I said more in shocked. I put the bottle back on the shelf. I didn't need him criticizing my personal drinking habits.
" Fancy running into you again...Ms. Anderson.." he replied. Is this guy stalking me?
"Just picking up something for dinner." I answered. "Oh... about the unexcuse absences...."
