TIME .
THEY say time heals all wounds, but he feels immobile.
He can practically hear his heart pounding in his ears, thump, thump, thump.
The pain doesn't register until his legs give out, and he's lying on the ground.
He knows his lover's mouth is moving, but he can't hear a single word.
Jisoo turns away and looks towards the sky; was this how it would end?
Time holds still as his love withers away.

JISOO thinks time is playing a cruel joke on him. It's sickening, and painful, and outright vicious. He feels everything all at once when he cries out in pain.
It happened too fast; he never saw it coming. He swears he wasn't close enough; Jisoo was ready to die. He didn't plan for this, he didn't expect Seungcheol to cover his body. How did he reach him? Was he closer than he thought?
They both crash to the ground, Seungcheol breaking Jisoo's fall.
"Cheol! Seungcheol!" He practically wails, eyebrows curving upward as he climbs out of the male's embrace.
Water starts blocking his vision, "Baby please, please wake up for me, okay?" Seungcheol's not there, Jisoo knows he isn't there because his eyes aren't speaking. Why won't his eyes speak to me? "You don't-you don't get to do this to me." Please.
"I-I need you, okay? Please. Cheol-Seungcheol please. Please don't go. You can't-" His eyes leave Seungcheol's face and focuses on his own bloody hands, covering the damage to his body. "Oh god, baby...You can't-you can't leave me. I won't let you. Why did you do that? You weren't supposed to do that!" He lifts the elder's head to rest against his knees.
Gods please don't take him away from me.
"Soo?"
Jisoo gasps his eyes trail back towards his face, distracting him from the blood stains on their clothing. "Cheol, Cheollie can you hear me? You-you're going to be okay." He says drained but still hopeful, he just needs Seungcheol to fight.
Fight to live.
Fight for him.
For them.
"Jisoo?" Seungcheol repeats, and Jisoo feels his throat closing up. Seungcheol turns his head, his eyes trailing every feature as if it would be the last time. Is this the last time I'll see him again? He wonders, I can't let him see me like this.
He tries his best to ignore the pain, comparing it to every worst thing imaginable. The male in front of him has been through hell and back. Seungcheol can survive this, right?
He closes his eyes for a moment, bringing himself back to reality.
The reality he wishes they were meant for.
"Shua, I need you to listen to me, okay?" His words are soft and faint, but still capture his lover's undivided attention. Jisoo grabs Seungcheol's palm and brings it to his face, "anything." Oh, how could Jisoo hurt him? Why did the thought even cross his mind?
He holds his tongue and just stares, trying to voice everything he wants to say in a single stare. If only that were enough, why can't Jisoo ever get enough?
Seungcheol's lips parted, and slowly but surely, sorrow leaves his mouth. "Shua, you're so stubborn, so stupidly stubborn. That's why I know you won't like what I'm about to say, but you have to listen anyway, alright?" He exhales, "I'll dream of you always, okay? I'll keep you in my dreams, and you keep me in yours."
"It's okay. We're going to be okay. Jisoo, I promise it's not that bad." The elder chuckles, his breath labored and worn. He looked up at his lover, tears welling in his eyes as he smiles warmly, "You keep me in your dreams until you don't need me anymore, okay? I know you can do it, you're stronger than I ever was. You've survived worse. You'll be okay. Okay? Promise me, Shua. You have to promise."
If now was an appropriate time to curse someone, Jisoo would do so without hesitation. You stupid fool, he wants to shout. That was meant for me, not you! His heart burns with fury and frustration. He spent time preparing to be the one at death's door. He hadn't considered this.
Jisoo didn't consider this and it's eating him alive.
"No." He murmurs beneath his breath, "No!" He practically shouts, staring up in despair, "someone, get help! Please help us! Goddamn it, get us some help! He needs help!" Jisoo feels like he's going to die, like the world is burning beneath him.
Seungcheol's his entire world.
His eyes soften, he tilts his head, and his lips tremble as he looks down at the bleeding male. "Nononono, Cheol please. I-I can't. I can't do this without you, baby please. I'm begging you okay, please?" His pleas break Seungcheol's heart; he wishes more than anything to be the one who holds and reassured him everything is fine.
"You made me a promise, we promised Cheol. You promised. Once graduation comes, we were going to get an apartment together. Remember? Not the one we have now-but a bigger one, one where it overlooks the city-you said I could have my own studio, and you'd model to my heart's desire. And-and we would have a dog. Maybe two, but we would have one-and name her kkuma because you won't argue with anything else." Jisoo breaks out into a broken laugh, his tears pouring freely and landing on Seungcheol's shirt.
"And the kitchen! We'll have such a big kitchen where I could bake all day and night, because it's something I've always wanted to try. And you said I could even help with cooking meals despite me being so unbearably bad in the kitchen." He hears Seungcheol laughing, which is cut short by a wince. Seungcheol interjects, "and we would have dinner with Mingyu and Minghao, every Friday. Just like you said, Soo."
Jisoo agrees. "Even if they do sleepover, I promised my attention wouldn't get pu;;ed away from you, and we'd cuddle all night anyway." Jisoo hastily wipes away his tears, which proves worthless with the fresh set that fall. "You're not supposed to go, so why?" The blonde shook his head. "I don't understand-"
"It's okay." Seungcheol cut him off.
"But I love you."
"That's why I know you'll survive."
