Gordon's suspension springs had broken as he toppled off the tracks into a ravine. Thomas had come just as the crash happened and was surprised to see Gordon on his side. "Fizzling Fireboxes Gordon! Are you ok?" he asked. "No Thomas, my suspension springs snapped, and I fell off the tracks on the bend. I can't take the train anymore." Thomas was surprised as the Royal Coaches rolled up to Thomas, coming to a complete stop an inch from his buffers. Elsa had opened the Compartment Door to the Coach and looked at where Gordon was. "Oh Goodness Gordon, are you alright?" asked Anna, who looked surprised and worried. "I'm alright your majesties." said Gordon. "But I'm afraid I can't take you to the celebration. I'm terribly sorry." Elsa looked over at Thomas, she had an idea and hoped it would work. "Excuse me," she called to Thomas. "What is your name?" Thomas was surprised and cleared his voice. "I'm Thomas the Tank Engine, your majesty." Anna's head jolted towards Thomas as if she had heard that name before. "Thomas the Tank Engine? As in The Thomas the Tank Engine who saved Sodor from a Big Mean Diesel and brought back the magic of Shining Time Station?" This surprised Thomas, he didn't know there were others that knew of his adventures. "How did you know that?" he asked. Elsa just chuckled. "Anna's been obsessed with your movie 'Thomas & the Magic Railroad'." explained Elsa. "She hoped that one day, she'd got to meet her idol." Anna smiled happily and ran towards Thomas' footplate. This made Thomas smile his biggest smile. "Can you help us, Thomas?" asked Anna. "We need to get to Knapford in time for the Celebration." Thomas was a little worried, the snow was going to make it harder to get there and without his snowplow, despite finding it uncomfortable, he knew it would get him there faster. But he blew his whistle and agreed. "I'll have to turn around to take the train." He said and hurried to find a turntable. Once he got turned around, he backed onto the Royal Express Coaches and puffed away. "I'll get help as well Gordon." he called out. By the time they passed Wellsworth, the snowstorm had begun, and it hit Thomas harder than he thought it would. "I wish I could see; I wish I could see!" He panted heavily, hoping to make up for lost time. Elsa and Anna were especially worried too. "I hope Thomas can make it." said Elsa. "Of course he can." said Anna confidently as she opened the coach's window, calling out to Thomas. "Come on Thomas! Little Engines can Do Big Things!" This made Thomas more confident as he blew his whistle and put on full steam. "I can do it; I can do it!" He panted, rushing past Crosby.

Meanwhile at Knapford, Sir Topham Hatt and the other engines were worried. They heard that Gordon had derailed, but they couldn't get to him because of the snowstorm. "I just hope Thomas makes it back." said Boco. "He was the last engine to be heading out to the Docks." "We have to go help him!" shouted Percy. "It's not safe Percy," said Toby sternly. "You'll get stuck in the snow as well." "Well, we can't just do nothing!" protested James. "Thomas might be snowed under." "Toby's right though," said Edward. "If we try going out there, we won't be able to get to Thomas or make it back here, we'll just have to wait here and hope he'll get here."

Thomas was finding it harder to get to Knapford, his lamps shun brightly as his pistons pumped harder. Elsa and Anna were keeping their fingers crossed and their confidence up. Then there was trouble, Thomas heard a rumbling through the Valley as he looked at the top of the cliff and whistled loudly. "AVALANCE!!" He screamed and rushed into Henry's Tunnel, just as the snow fell onto the tracks, blocking the Tunnel from both exit and entrance. Thomas, Elsa and Anna were Snowed In.
