In a kingdom long ago there was a small orphan girl. She had no family and her parents had died when she was a child. And she had no other family. So she grew up in an orphanage.
When she grew up she got out of the orphanage and lived her life. She married and had three children. Two girls and a boy. And her life finally felt complete. But then the war started.
Her husband was drafted into the king's army. And he died a few days before his term would be over. To replace him. Her son was taken. And he too died in battle. She was left alone with her two daughters.
As the war ended many who returned were filled with sickness. The woman warned her daughters to stay inside. She feared they would get sick. But the daughters went out anyway. And soon both were bedridden and died from plague.
The woman wept and tried to take her own life. But found she would not die. She tried to die from old age. But found her body would not age. She tried by fire, ice, and sickness. But she still would not die. She wished to the gods she believed in. To let her die. To end her misery. But still she remained alive.
She turned twisted and dark. The good in her was gone. She became Misery. The goddess of anguish and torment. And all you hear from her as she walks by you. Is her sorrow for her family. And how no one shpuld have that pain.
Be thankful for what you have. Because others always will have less. And wish they cpuld have something. That isn't meant to be.
