Stars and Ducks

You were leaning against the railing of the balcony of the hotel. You were listening to the soft sounds of the breeze. You had come to the hotel only a few days ago after being kicked out of your apartment after you broke up with your partner. Down on your luck with no place to go, you decided to try the Hazbin Hotel.

The princess was more than happy to have you here. She gave you a room and gave you a care package as you came in with nothing but the clothes you were wearing, your phone and a charger. It was weird to have someone care about you this much.

The last few days have been busy with Charlie having everyone play ice breaker games and do trust exercises. But the most crazy part was that the king of hell Lucifer has been hanging around the hotel. He has been talking to everyone and trying to interact with them. Well most of them anyways... him and Alastor aren't getting along.

For the king of hell he is pretty chill. You have had a few conversations with him.

Even if the concept of redemption sounds like a fairy tale you were willing to at the very least try there wasn't a place lower to go. Even if it sounded stupid it was at the very least something to do while at the hotel.

Suddenly you hear footsteps and you turn and see Lucifer standing there. "Hi, can I uhh join you?" he asks

"Ummm sure"

When he walks up and leans against the railing with you. "So what are you doing out here?"

"Mostly just watching"

"Oh, too bad you can't see the stars here"

"Yeah. I was Atmospheric and space scientist.... Space was one of the most interesting things to me when I was alive." you reach for the drink you left on the table nearby.

"I think people on Earth take for granted what the stars show us" You continue after taking a sip of your drink.

"You think so?" Lucifer asks his gaze watching the red sky of the Pride Ring.

"Yeah the stars were always so pretty. I liked the fun stuff though"

"Like the animal constellations?"

"Yeah, like there is this one called Wild Duck Cluster. It's really cool" you turn to find Lucifer's eyes light up at the mention of the constellation.

Lucifer turns to you his yellow eyes bright "I didn't know there was a duck constellation"

"Well there is!" you smile at his enthusiasm nobody has really cared about the stars like you unless they were a coworker.

Lucifer listened as you explained the constellation and the origin. Lucifer looked amazed the entire time his smile as he listened was surprisingly adorable.

"You know you remind me of a duckling" you tell him

"A duckling? I mean..." Lucifer bashfully chuckles

'Cute.'

The king of hell wasn't so bad and you could get used to having him around.

In the morning when you came down to breakfast you see Lucifer made everyone breakfast. It was pancakes, sausage, eggs and orange juice. It was something that you haven't had in so long. You take a seat in between Angel and Niffty. Angel was talking with Husk about how Fat Nuggets wasn't posing for a picture. Niffty was eating her breakfast but she was watching her plate intently as if looking for something.

Charlie then clapped her hands "good morning everyone I just thought we should all thank my dad for making us this wonderful breakfast"

There was a chorus of claps and thank yous from the group. Alastor was the only one who only just sat there smiling. You caught Lucifer's eye as he was staring at you?

When you glance back Lucifer wasn't looking at you anymore. Maybe it was your imagination?

After breakfast you were all cleaning up when suddenly you hear a crash and see the wall was bust open and Cherri Bomb was on the other side. "What's up bitches?" a smile plastered onto her face.

"Cherri!" Angel waves over to his best friend returning her smile.

"The wall!" Niftty cried

You can already tell this day was going to be an adventure.
