These creatures are hard to spot unless you know what you're looking for. They prefer to hang out in shadows, and have pure black bodies, allowing them to have amazing camouflage at night, or when they are in shadowy places. How to even know if they're there, is by watching for three glowing white points, two circles(eyes) and a sideways "D"(Mouth). These creatures can be used as servants, and are able to teleport from shadow to shadow. They are typically hired as spies, however it can be difficult to understand them as they have their own language, and when they do speak English, or Common, it sounds broken, and is difficult to understand. Something that confuses all Mythologists is how they are born. Many have speculated that they reproduce like we humans do, and others have speculated that they might have been the offspring of someone feeling intense negative emotions while sitting in the shadow of something. Careful while walking by shadows when in your enemies territory, as these spirits also make for excellent assassins. They can also possess people, if they so wish, however it drains them of energy really fast. They hate any and all light, as it causes them to dissipate if they're not careful. They also are considered citizens, and not pets, however much they are treated like pets. It's what allows them to travel without their "owners". I believe that there are good Shadow Spirits, just they are owned by bad people, and that if you know their name, you can use it to control them, much like with Fae. Most of the time however, they are referred to with numbers, like 1 or 56. They are incredibly powerful, yet also easy to control. I have one for a friend, and the only time I use their full name is when we're in a dangerous situation, and they aren't running away. Getting back to our topic, this is the end of this entry. This is entry 38, and I will see you for the next entry my friend. Thank you for taking the time to take these papers and turn them into a proper book.
