Whatever It Takes (A story based on the Undertale AU Storyshift)

Chapter 1: Chara

Upon hearing the voice, Papyrus froze for a few seconds.
He didn't know what to do in case someone visited him, since that didn't happen very often. Only two people visited him, and both were royal guards, who surely wanted to capture Sera.
Papyrus took a deep breath and answered whoever was at the door.

-I'm coming Chara! please wait a second!

He turned to see Sera, and told he to hide in his room. Sera didn't understand what was happening, but he listened, since he trusted Papyrus, and if he had told him to hide, then he should do it.

When Sera was hidden, Papyrus opened the door.
On the other side was a girl, similar in height to Sera. She had red eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was wearing a green jacket, and a white t-shirt underneath. She was also wearing long black pants and black shoes.
The girl smiled when she saw Papyrus.

-How's Pap? I see you were a little busy. Tidying up the house eh?

Chara walked into the house, sitting in a chair nonchalantly. Papyrus knew how to hide his nerves, and smiled at her again.

-Chara, how have you been? You haven't visited me in a while, I thought you had forgotten me hahaha

Chara smiled and looked at Papyrus, as she put her feet up on the table.

-How do you think I would do such a thing? Also, I bring important information, which has not yet spread throughout the kingdom, but will do so soon.

Chara suddenly became serious, looking at Papyrus intently.

-It seems that another human fell into the underground here... The king's sensors detected it. Luckily, I was the one who saw it, so I turned it off and came here quickly....after taking a nap, of course.

Papyrus looked nervously at Chara.
He started trying to look surprised, but acting wasn't his thing.

-A human??? Heavens, I thought that besides you, no other human would fall. Where do you think that human is? It sure is dangerous

Chara smiled and stood up from her chair, beginning to walk slowly through the house.

-I thought you would know... In fact, my human sensors tell me that he may... be here.

Chara opened the door to the room where Sera was hiding. He and Papyrus were surprised, since she had discovered them almost immediately.
Chara noticed this and laughed, looking at Papyrus.

-If you are going to hide humans, make sure to close the curtains. I saw everything from outside hahahaha

Papyrus was a little embarrassed, but then he looked at Chara a little more seriously.

-And... what will you do with him? Are you going to take him to the king?

Chara looked at Papyrus with an intimidating face... Or at least he tried, because after a few seconds, she started laughing.
She approached Sera, putting her arm around his shoulder, while looking at Papyrus.

-Do you really think I would betray you to the king? I? You don't trust me huh. Don't worry, Pap, I'm not going to tell on you or... What's his name?

She turned to look at Sera, who was scared and somewhat uncomfortable.
In reality, he didn't know how to feel.

-What is your name boy? Wait, could I call you boy? how old are you?

It took him a few seconds to respond, but he knew he didn't have many options.

-My name is Sera... And I am 16 years old, although in 2 months I will turn 17

Chara looked at him, to start laughing and celebrating. She then looked at Sera, stroking her head as if he were a child.
