"Your house is quite.. Small." Dogday says, his deep voice reverberating through the walls. He ducks his head down, crawling in.

You giggle a little, closing the door behind him. You managed to recover his ripped-off legs on the journey out, and you sit him down and get right to work stitching them back on. "Will you be able to walk?"

"I should be," he assures you, smiling softly. "Thank you."

You smile back, noticing he can now move his mouth and eyes. "Wait, you're fully functional now?"

"I seem to have full control of myself now."

"That's great!" You're ecstatic, and once you're finished sewing his legs back you wipe your hands dramatically and smile. "Done! See if you can stand?"

Dogday weakly stands up,and before you can warn him, he hits his head on the ceiling and groans, sitting back down.

"Sorryyyyy," you say, rushing over to cradle his head, "at least we know you can stand now."

He rests his head on your chest, sighing. The bass of his voice echoes through your body, and you hold him close, trying your hardest not to blush. After a moment he begins to move again, standing but crouched so his head doesn't quite hit the ceiling.

"What now?" Dogday says, picking you up in his arms.

You blush more, clinging to his grasp. "Well, let's go upstairs. The ceiling is higher in my room.. You won't be able to fully stand up but you won't be too badly crushed."

"Alright, angel." he slowly goes up the stairs, holding you as he steps into your room and lays on your bed with you. You're on his chest now and you hide in his fur. "Are you okay?" He says.

"Yeah I'm fine.." you don't wanna leave his side, and stay clinging to his chest. He weakly wraps an arm around you, and the warmth is too comfortable to let go. Your heart is fluttering, everything is tingling. What is this feeling?

"Angel?" Dogday asks, tilting your chin up. "What's wrong? You're burning up."

You gently move his hand, shaking your head. "I'm fine, really. Just a bit flushed from the stress. I'm gonna make some food."

He smiles at you, and you try your hardest not to let your face turn a brighter red. "What food do you enjoy?"

"Really just boring stuff.. Noodles, rice, eggs."

"I should cook for you."

"You know how to cook?"

"I was a human once too, you know." Dogday chuckles, sitting up. His face is crazy close to yours, and you can feel the reverberation of his vocals when he continues, "I made a promise to take care of you, I intend on keeping it."

"I know." You reply softly, barely a whisper.

He wraps his arms around you, pulling you closer. No words exchanged, just his smile. You swallow hard, trying to keep eye contact. It feels like he could kiss you at any moment, which slightly scares you.

Being close to him makes you realize how strange he is. Not in a bad way, but he's.. Different. A human soul trapped inside a toy suit. What was he like before he became Dogday? Does he prefer this?

His voice is like an explosive vibration. It shakes your body in a very good way, leaves chills down your spine. It feels almost odd to be comforted by him but.. He's safe. Despite all the hurt he's been through, he's still one of the most kind men you've ever met. Even if he is a soul inside a giant dog suit.

"Uhm.. Dogday." Your voice breaks the silence, and he seems to escape from a trance. "Maybe we should wash your fur.."

He chuckles, "We should, angel. But I promised I'd make you food."

"Can't make food if you're not clean!"

"I suppose," he cracks a big smile, "Lead the way."

Hand in hand you lead him to your bathroom, suddenly realizing he won't be able to fit without scrunching up a bit. He sits in the tub, and to ur surprise he fits with a little bit of wiggle room, keeping his legs bent.

You start up the bath, and you feel his gentle hand pat your head.

"Thank you, angel." He says quietly, "I've never had anyone take care of me like this."

"You deserve it," you reply, starting to lather his fur in soap, "uh.. Can you feel any of this?"

"I cannot." He says, chuckling. "But I can imagine it'd be quite nice."

You blush furiously, gently lathering up his face. "Y-yeah I guess it would."

"Have you ever been washed?"

"N-no," you state, meeting his gaze, "well, by myself yeah."

"I would hope so." Dogday teases, and you giggle a little, ruffling his ears.

Once you finish washing him up, you smile. "Now just gotta let you dry."

"You're not gonna wash up?"

"W-what?" you stutter, you didn't really expect to bathe in front of him. "I-I wasn't planning on it!"

"Is it weird?"

"A-a little! You're just a suit, nothing weird about it! I'm.." you look down, hugging yourself. "You know.."

He nods, looking embarrassed. "Apologies, I.. I'm not used to all this. I just wanted to assist you."

"You don't have to help me with everything, I appreciate it but that's not why I brought you here." You hold Dogday's face gently, "I wanted to save you."

"You truly are an angel." He leans his forehead against mine. "Thank you."

"Of course..~ Now let's get you dried up, and then we can make some food."
