I wake up in bed, once again with the best feeling.
I'm so glad that that moose is gone for good. He was one of the most annoying of the critters. I repeat my everyday process of making breakfast and coffee for myself. I eat it all, in the span of 10 minutes.
I walk out the door, and smile to myself, always bringing the knife along just in case. I go over to the playroom, which is where all of the children are as of now. Birdie walks up to me, "DogDay! Have you seen Moose? He's been missing forever now, and we're getting worried." Birdie says, gesturing at all of the other critters. "No, I'm afraid I haven't. And why you asking me?" I say, and Birdie looks at me, and walks away. It's like my aura is just making them think I'm a bad man... Which in some cases I could be, but for the most part I'm just a man sticking to himself, and not wanting no attention from anyone.
"Hey DogDay! Look what I can do!" I child comes up to me, balancing a spoon with a spoonful of food on it, "Uh... Very cool kid, just make sure you don't spill it all over your nice clothes, alright?" I giggle at the randomness, "Okay!" They say, taking the spoon off their nose and running off to their friend group.
I laugh, and I walk around the room, observing. I think back to my book, "How to pluck feathers off a bird." The paragraph plays back in my mind. Y'know... Reminds me of Birdie, and his red feathers. So... Vibrant, and annoying. I want to pluck those, to be honest. Make him suffer, feather by feather.
I laugh to myself, the amusing thoughts began to flood my knowledge, and in the back of my mind, I knew I shouldn't be thinking these things... But it's just so satisfying.
I hear a sound from behind me, and I see Haystack Horse attempting to scare me or something, because it seems like she's sneaking up on me for whatever reason. "What is it, Horse?" I say, emphasizing the "Horse" in that sentence.
"Nothing, just wondering if this strange disappearance had anything to do with you." She says, "Me? Why would I do such a thing?" I ask her, starting to get extremely annoyed already. "I don't know, maybe because you're DogDay?" She says, laughing. "What's funny bout' my name, huh? Something stuck in that head of yours that is bugging me." I say, with the most serious face I could make. She quits laughing and looks at me, directly into my eyes. "I don't got nothin' in my noggin. Besides, why you wonder bout' what's in my head, gramps?" She says, giggling. "I ain't wondering, I know what is in that head of yours... And make sure you remember this, ma'am. I am not the brightest in the world, despite my name... But anyway... Neither am I the darkest, but I could be whenever people like you step up to me." I say, right in her face now. She backs up, and walks away, not wanting the trouble. If she kept talking, I would've killed her on the spot, even if I would get killed, it'd be worth it.
I look around, and now Birdie is approaching. "Now what the fuck could you want out of me?" I ask, and Birdie looks at me with the straightest face you could imagine. "I want to know who you are, DogDay. You aren't a cartoon character. I know your history, Arthur. He emphasizes my name, the most a creature could do. Either if their human, or not, it's still the most you could do to ones name.
I look at him, "Now look... I wanna just send you off like I did to that horse, but I think I'll do something better." I laugh, and look around for a second, look to see if the cameras ain't looking. All of those are true, so I grab him by the neck, and cover his mouth, and began to drag him to the janitors closet. It's never locked, because no one would think to go in there beside the janitor themselves.
I close the door, and throw him against a shelf. "What's the matter, pox? Gonna have a nice feast for dinner tonight... Some bird... with some spice sprinkled on top... Doesn't that sound nice? I ask him, and he's rubbing his head. He doesn't respond.
"Quiet, just like I need you." I laugh, and grab my knife, and slice his vocal cords, just how I did to Moose's. I then cut his stomach open, grab a bunch of different cleaning chemicals, and pour it into his guts, and his stomachal area. This reminds me of the hour, the horrid time. It's in the past now, but I'm killing someone how me myself almost died. From a good friend of mine as well, but this isn't a friend. I don't feel any remorse in doing this.
I smile, and he struggles to scream. "Hahaha! Look at your face! So funny!" I laugh and take out my phone. "Perfect! Keep it up! Say cheese!" I say, "Oh right, you can't say nothing!" I laugh and slam a broom stick through his head. I casually grab a trash bag and put his body in it.
I walk out of the room, along with the trash bag, whistling as all of the evidence is cleaned up. If any kid would ask me what is in the bag, I'd tell them that the janitor asked me to take out the trash for him.
I make it to my room, and throw his body in the oven, laughing. I of course, locked the door and closed my blinds. I don't know why they even gave us windows... probably for some natural... or artificial extra light. I don't know.
The place began to stink, so I just sprayed some Febreze, so I could take in the better smell of lavender. I always will choose lavender scented sprays; they just remind me of him. I'll always love him, no matter if he's dead or not. Whenever I spray this, it's like he's here all over again. But it will never beat the natural smell from 9 years ago.
I smile at the thought, and suddenly my oven rings. I go over to it and take the freshly cooked bird out. Smells good now that it's thoroughly cooked. I throw some spice over it, like I said I'd do before smashing his brains.
I eat up. This is cannibalism, but at least the evidence is completely gone.
