TRIGGER WARNING FOR PHYSICAL ABUSE AND HOMOPHOBIA

THE THREE SIBLINGS HAD WOKEN UP EARLY THE NEXT MORNING, they decided to go to the stables. For the rest of the morning, they had rode their horses, choosing to spend their time with each other rather than spend it with their judgmental extended family.

They would have rode for the whole day if food wasn't an issue, but it was and they had to eat. The three rode the horses back to the stables, they led the horses back into their respective stables. Taking off all the equipment before letting the staff take over the care of the horses.

"Can't we go eat out somewhere?" Reyna begged.

"Yes," Azul agreed, "We should go to McDonalds."

Sol shrugged, "I don't know."

They made it back to the house, took off their filthy boots and left them by the door. They continued into the kitchen, where the one person they'd never wanted to see again stood. He was casually leaning against the kitchen island sipping on a glass filled to the brim with a clear liquid. Sol was certain as hell that it wasn't water, she pushed her siblings behind her.

She felt the twins tense up.

He had been taking with their uncle and grandmother when he noticed them standing at the entrance. He then turned to them and forced a smile.

He clicked his tongue, disapprovingly. Usually it was followed by a smack to the face, "No me van a saludar? Su padre."

Sol motioned for the twins to leave, they didn't need to be told twice. The twins ignored him and ran out the kitchen. She glared over at him.

"Tu no eres un padre." he hadn't been one since she was five, and that was her being generous.

"Que me acabas de decir?" Be seethed through his teeth and took an intimidating step towards Sol.

She instinctively cowered back, hating how weak it made her feel. Sol harshly swallowed the lump in her throat.

"Me escuchastes."

He raised his hand up, ready to hit her. She squeezed her eyes shut and winced getting ready for the blow.

It never came, she opened her eyes and both her grandmother and uncle stood in front of Domingo, blocking the way.

"Déjala." Maria demanded. He listened.

Sol took the chance and ran out the kitchen, making her way up the staircase and into Reyna's room, where she guessed the twins were.

She was right.

They were huddled together, it broke her heart seeing them like this.

"Let's go." Sol said, they followed after her.

"¿Onde vamos?" Azul asked.

"No se," Truthfully, Sol just wanted to put as much distance between her father and them, "A ver onde vamos."

Sol went to the garage, it held multiple cars, grabbed a random pair of keys and the three of them hopped into the car.

"Why is he here?"

Sol sighed, "I don't know. Maria didn't know if he was coming."

"We should go home." Azul said.

The fifteen minute drive was spent in silence, it wasn't completely awkward but it wasn't comforting either. She had zoned out, completely forgetting she was driving.

"Sol!" The twins screeched out, bringing her out of her daydream.

A car in front of them had stopped at a red light, Sol was going full speed, she hadn't even seen the car. She stomped on the break causing the car to come to an abrupt stop, they were inches from crashing into the car in front of them.
