Sight is helpful in our day to day life, it helps us see where we go and what our favorite things look like. And the way sight works is amazing, fascinating even. We're able to see because of electric impulses, which are sent through our optic nerve. And the group of retinal fibers are then exited out the back of the eye and then transported to our brains where it then get interpreted, which helps us see all sorts of shapes and colors that take up our world. But there's more to that then meets our eyes, the iris in the center of our eyes is what gives the eye its color. It can change sizes so the amount of light that enters it, to be regulated. To add on to these facts, there's different types of vision that some people in our lives may have. There's 20/20 vision, which is what is referred to as normal vision. If you or someone you know has 20/20 vision then that means that there are no refractive errors and you have focused vision. Presbyopia is another type of vision that people may have, but that could only affects the ages from 40 to 50 years old. Presbyopia is when you have trouble seeing things up close and the lens of your eye hardens. But thankfully there are ways to help deal with this. Another problem that people may deal with is called Astigmatism, which is when the cornea isn't shaped correctly or could be the wrong size, which can make it difficult for those who have it to see. It causes this thing called a reflective error to occur which makes it blurry and hard to see. But this can also be helped with a prescription. There is also near and farsightedness, those who have nearsightedness have difficulty seeing things that are farther away from them. Whereas those who have farsightedness have trouble seeing things that are closer to them. So in conclusion, sight is a very key factor in our day to day lives.
