Storyweaver
Storyweaver stood on the ledge outside of Jade Mountain Academy, intrigued by all the dragon's he saw. He watched them come and go and thought about each of their stories. That little Sandwing hugging her mom? Maybe she was super excited to be here. Maybe she was worried about making new friends and whether they were going to like her or not. The handsome and confident looking Seawing? Maybe he was actually horrified about the concept of leaving his home under the ocean to learn next to dragons he didn't even know. Storyweaver shook his head, brining himself back to the present. He often got caught up in other dragon's stories. That's just how he was.
He looked around the ledge again and looked at all his potential classmates. Most were normal dragons from normal tribes, but he noticed two dragons who were hybrids.
Hybrids just like him.
Maybe this really is the best thing for me. Maybe I will come out of my shell here and make new friends. Storyweaver thought hopefully.
He turned around and looked at his parents, who were smiling at him with pride in their eyes.
"Ready, son?" Storyweaver's father, a cool blue Icewing named Hoarfrost, asked.
"Of course he's ready. Why would he not be?" Answered Storyweaver's mother, a pitch black Nightwing named Dreamwatcher. She was trying not to cry while also making sure Storyweaver's siblings didn't go wandering off. "Our little boy is growing up."
Hoarfrost put a wing around his mate and pulled her closer. "Yes he is. Yes he is."
Storyweaver couldn't help but smile at his parents. He loved them both so much. "I'll be okay guys. Don't worry about me. I'll make sure to send letters as often as I can."
"You better mister, or mark my words I'm going to fly all the way here and ground you." Dreamwatcher scolded.
Storyweaver gave a chuckle until he realized his mother wasn't joking.
"Dee, lay of him. He just go here. It's fine if he doesn't send a letter every single day. Or even every week. Let him just do his own thing." Hoarfrost said, turning his wife's face to look at his.
Dreamwatcher let out a long sigh. "Okay. Fine. But he still needs to give me a hug goodbye."
Anything for you to be less overprotective. Storyweaver thought as he embraced his mother.
Dreamwatcher wiped her eyes as she began to cry. Hoarfrost's eyes also began to water, but he tried not to let it show. Storyweaver grinned and gave his three younger siblings a hug.
His sibling closest in age to him, his sister, looked at him with fear and worry in her eyes. She had black scales like Storyweaver, but she also had splotches of white everywhere except the insides of her wings, almost as if they had escaped from them. "You'll be okay, right?" She asked.
