"A whole lot of people depend on this place, you two. We know what's on the dog." Garrett explained as he was walking over to them and Victoria struggled in vain to get free, but Jordan was holding her in place. Effectively locking her up. "If I control that shit, then I can control King and not have anybody standing in my way."

"You're so full of shit!" Victoria shouted at her brother and Garrett's hand shot out, as Victoria began to choke. Victoria struggled, choking and Pav was turning to look at her.

"Garrett, let her go!" Connor shouted as he had finally gotten his own wind back, being able to speak again.

"Please, stop it!" Pav pleaded and Garrett looked down at Pav, before he let Victoria go and Victoria was unconscious from the lack of air. But she was still able to breathe again, thankfully.

"Tori?" Connor asked and Victoria quietly coughed, before she was opening her eyes and she nodded. "Are you okay?" He asked and she stared at him, right before she was grunting in pain.

"I'm alive." Victoria rasped hoarsely and Connor nodded, before Pav was running over to Victoria and stopped just short of her, afraid to make it words. "Hey kid." Victoria whispered and Pav grabbed onto her unburnt hand. "I'm gonna be okay." She whispered.

"We have a problem." Jordan said and Victoria scoffed.

"Oh really? Never would have noticed that..." Victoria snapped coldly, coughing as she was speaking louder than she reasonably could and Jordan sighed. "If they are coming into this building, then you are going to need everybody. You have to get me off of this fucking wall, and you need to do it, right fucking now." Victoria said and then Jordan scoffed.

"I don't take orders from you." Jordan said and then, Victoria was shaking her head.

"I never gave your orders before, Jordan. I treated you like an equal and you just threw it back in my face, like it meant nothing to you." Victoria said and silently, she was just shaking her head. "I got you out, I gave you a home. You were my first real friend and you threw it all away for this?" Victoria's eyes were blurry with tears and she was shaking her head as best as she could.

"You threw it all away for my fucking brother, like it just did not mean anything to you." She said and then, Jordan's tears slid down her face as she flicked her hand and then, the metal barriers that had been holding Victoria up, they crumpled and fell to the ground.

Victoria hit the ground and she was shuddering, holding her burnt arm as soon as she was able to. "Let's be realistic for a minute. If Garrett is letting them into the building, then Donnie is already dead." She said and Jordan flinched, before she walked over to the window and indeed, they could see Donnie's body on the ground.

"Give me the head." Connor said as he held out his hand.

"Back off, now..." One of the powered people said and he was holding the head of the K-9 unit in his hands and Victoria stepped forward, as all of them were now stopping and turning to her.

"My older brother has just rather too effectively fucked all of you." Victoria said calmly as she walked forward, not stopping as they were holding up their hands and all too ready to fight. "His best enforcer is dead, Donnie's body is right there. The riot control is storming this tower, you have the object that Sergeant Kingston wants more than anything else. Hell, he is willing to kill for that information." Victoria said, nodding at the powered people around her.

"Are you all willing to roll over and die for my brother's cause?" Victoria asked and the others were all looking at each other. "Every person has to make a choice like this. If you choose to fight me on this, choose to stand with Garrett, all right." She said as she was looking at them. "But it might cost you your life in the end and frankly, I have seen far too many people dying for shit like this K-9 head, when they really didn't have to." She said.

"Then what the actual fuck do you suggest we do, oh wise leader?" One of Garrett's people asked sarcastically and she snapped her head around to stare at her and the powered woman stepped back at the sight of her glare.

"Give it to Connor or I. We are already on Kingston's radar, they won't be surprised to find one of us with it. We are all responsible for protecting Pav, I hope that we can at least agree on that." Victoria said as she was lifting her eyebrows and everybody was looking at her, before they were nodding quickly. "Good. Now give Connor the K-9's head, right now." She said.

Connor took the head and Pav was quickly moving to stand behind Connor and Victoria who despite her injuries, she was already back to being in her rather effective fighting mode.

Even if her body was very much in disagreement with her self assessment and Jordan was looking down at the floor, with her shame turning her cheeks and ears red.

Victoria was staring at the door in front of them as they waited, dreading the moment when the K-9 would knock out the lock on the door.

Victoria looked down and she silently reached out, grabbing Connor's free hand in hers. Connor glanced at her, before she was shaking and he nodded.

Connor gently squeezed her hand, right before the dog's footsteps were heard and it stopped right in front of the door. "Jordan, how many K-9 units are in the building right now?" Victoria whispered harshly.

"Five. Well, six of them technically if you include the one, that is watching Garrett outside right now." Jordan murmured and Victoria nodded slightly.

"All right." Victoria murmured quietly and the door burst open. Victoria's eyes flashed as she was forcing her body back to fight mode, no matter how much pain she was in.

The entire building was beginning to rumble and everyone was looking at Victoria, whose eyes changed into a glowing almost ocean-blue and then as soon as the cops burst into the room and lined up, the room seemed to explode with water.

Plaster and drywall went flying everywhere, pipes burst all around them and the cops were shouting and so were the powered people. "Go!" Jordan shouted and she flung out her hand, sending Connor, Pav and Victoria all running out of the room.

"You're coming with us!" Victoria said, teleporting back into the room and she was forcibly yanking Jordan along with them. "I'm not letting Dawn lose her mother!" She shouted and Jordan was staring at her, before Victoria was jumping down the ladder and awkwardly landing on her ankle.

"What in the fuck is she doing here?" Connor asked sharply and then Victoria was shaking her head, holding her ankle in pain before they all heard the resounding gunshot. Victoria's eyes widened as she was shaking her head, when Jordan was restraining her by the bracelets that Victoria was wearing.

"We can't help them, Tori!" Jordan shouted and Victoria was staring at her. "We can't do anything for them anymore, they have to find their own way out." She said and Victoria was seething, the water all around them was pulsing with rage. But Victoria knew that she was right and she let the water fall.

"If it wasn't for Dawn, I would have gladly left you up there with them." Victoria said and Jordan's heavy sigh was clear. "Let's go." Victoria ordered and Connor didn't argue with that as Pav was holding the dog's head and they were all making their way out of the building, as best as they could.
