You were driving by me in your pick-up again, this time it was raining. Rocking out to my music I suddenly stopped feeling a presence, I looked out my window and saw you.
We both stopped,smiled and said hi quietly, almost in sequence. This time I got the courage to ask you to pull over. You nodded and said to give you 10 minutes. You took off down the road.
I pulled over to the right. It felt like the longest 10 minutes of my life.
I was happy, excited, nervous, nauseous, and surprised that you were so willing without any hesitation and also surprised at myself that I even to found the courage to come out and ask you to pull over.
My thoughts going a mile a minute. What was I goanna say, what did I need to say? This could be my one and only chance to ask or tell you anything in this lifetime. With no distractions and no one around. Just you, me, and the rain.
I tried to catch my breath and consider my options of how much or how little I should tell you without scaring you away or having this end in a horrifying lifelong embarrassment.
I see you driving back, and my heart feels as if it might jump out of my body, I can hear it in my ears.
I get out of my car and can't even get the air into my lungs. I put up my umbrella and start walking towards you as you get out of the truck and stand outside your door. You look at me sideways with that smile I constantly see in my dreams and lightly chuckle. I stand in front of you biting my lip, in embarrassment and shock.
You look right through me with those dark puppy eyes.
