Can I figure it out?
I hate this stupid school. Why? Why Art? There are probably like 100 Seniors in this school but out of all those students, I had to be partnered with Art Vega. I don't want to spend my whole Senior year getting to know someone who hates my boyfriend. Oh my God. Johnny is genuinely going to lose his shit. I'm dreading this already; I don't want to see Johnny throwing a temper tantrum, it's so annoying. Also, why is he looking at me all smug? It's like he knows that this is going to be a living hell for me. He's probably already thinking about all of the witty comments he will make about Johnny.
Johnny, who was sitting next to me looked thrilled. "Who did you get?" I asked, he most likely got one of his football friends. "Oh, I got Leila," Oh. That's lucky, I wish I got Leila. This project is going to be so easy for them since they've known each other for so long. The smile on Johnny's face was bright, he seemed relieved. He looked around the auditorium, possibly looking for his friends to brag about his luck. But his eyes landed on Art, who was still smirking to himself. "I wonder who Art got since he's looking so proud of himself" He questions, looking at me with his eyebrow raised. I was about to tell him but before I could even say anything, his friends caught his attention.
Leaving me sitting alone awkwardly, I guess I should find Leila. She had left Johnny and I sitting by ourselves and joined the cheerleading team who were sitting at the back. She had a goofy smile on her face, the one she always had when she was excited about something. Once she saw me, she didn't hesitate to walk over to me. "Did you hear? Did Johnny tell you?" She giggled with her questions, I nodded with an awkward smile. She narrowed her eyes at me, "What's wrong?" She asked, somehow, she could read me like an open book. "My Senior project partner, that's what's wrong" I frowned. She took a step closer, "Who is it?" She questioned with worried eyes. I looked around before answering "Art," Leila gasped, being the dramatic girl she is.
"Oh Johnny is going to lose his shit" She whispered like she was afraid that Johnny would hear even though he was on the other side of the auditorium with his friends. "That's exactly what I thought" I whispered back. Before we could say anything else, this obnoxious voice started speaking into the microphone once again. "Since you all know your partners now, you are all dismissed, go to your third class," Principal William said with that weird smile she always has. Leila held my hand as we started to exit the auditorium.
"Sol, how are you going to tell Johnny?" She held my hand tighter while walking through the hallway. "I'm just going to tell him, if he has a problem then he can deal with it. It's not like it's my fault" I answered her, holding back the urge to roll my eyes. Johnny needs to get a grip, we all know that he has this major grudge against Art. But no one knows why, literally no one. All I know is that it has nothing to do with me. He better act like a normal human being because I honestly don't want to deal with it right now. "Right, I agree. If he says anything, I'll have your back" She smiled at me. And I believe her, she always has my back.
We separated in the middle of the hallway since our classes were in two different buildings. My third period was art class. I picked art class this year because I usually pick classes like Dance or PE but I wanted to do something different this year. Leave my comfort zone a little. I finally found the classroom, some guy was nice enough to open the door before I even had to knock. The art classroom was interesting, there was beautiful artwork everywhere. This class was for beginners so it was filled with Freshmen, maybe some Sophomores. The art teacher was in front of the class, he looked kind. I decided to sit at the back table since it seemed no one was there.
While the teacher was explaining where all the materials were going to be. I heard a knock at the door, the same kid who opened the door for me got up again. Then the bane of my existence walked in. That's a bit far, I barely know him but let's pretend. It was Art. He walked in confidently, like owned the place. The teacher waved at him for some reason. But then he saw me, it was like all of that confidence had faded away for a second. He looked like he was surprised to see me here. But then he walked towards my table and sat next to me. This is just ridiculous.
