𝘖𝘔𝘕𝘐𝘚𝘊𝘐𝘌𝘕𝘛

                                    _________

                                  two days later

NINETEEN— Princess Jones was spending the rest her nineteenth birthday in her bed rotting away. She went on a picnic with Angel and got a bunch of messages from online friends which she responded to with a simple thank you.

Nothing was happy about this birthday though.

Somehow she found the motivation to get up and clean herself up, installing a new wig and doing her makeup.

A knock at her door caught her attention. Princess would be lying if she said she didn't wish it was Kilyier deep down.

But instead it was someone she hadn't expected to see at all. "Mom?"

Harmony cracked a small-guilt filled smile, in her hands was a small cake that was vanilla flavored because her daughter hated chocolate.

"Can I come in?"

"Uh—yeah, I wasn't expecting any company so I didn't um straighten up." Princess muttered awkwardly.

"Girl I changed your shitty diapers." She placed the cake on her island. "I tried calling you but you got my number blocked."

For a reason.

"I—

"You don't have to explain, I know i've been a real pain in the ass, especially about your relationship. I was just scared he was gonna hurt you baby. But I'm talking to a therapist and she says I need to let you free." She explained.

"I'm sorry Princess, I want to be a better person— a better mother, I understand you can't forgive me and you need space but I just had to see my first born on her birthday."

Tears were blocking both of their visions. Like mother like daughter. Princess sniffled her nose, wrapping her arms around her mother tightly.

Little moments like this gave her hope that everything would work out in the end.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too." She smiled, pulling away after a couple more seconds.

"I'm surprised you didn't throw a whole block party or something." Princess spoke too soon while looking down at her cake.

Her mother raised her eyebrows, laughing when her daughter sighed dramatically.

"It's just a couple of people! Like ten— twenty— thirty...

"Ma!"
