CONSCIOUSNESS TRANSFER PROTOCOL

The Consciousness Transfer Protocol, or CTP, is an experimental method of retaining knowledge, and therefore training and other costly resources, upon a Helldiver's death. As this project is incredibly expensive, even for the extensive wealth belonging to Super Earth, only 9 recruits were selected to test this item.

A chip is surgically placed in the brain of the subject just after they complete basic training. This tiny chip uploads the memories of the host unit to an encrypted database onboard the unit's Destroyer upon the host's death. Backup Helldivers are held in cryostasis aboard each of the testee's Destroyers, all with inactive chips.

As the "stored" soldiers are regaining consciousness, the chip activates. Chips are synced to the Destroyer's CTP database, allowing for instantaneous download of the entire memory of the previously active unit. It is unknown what will happen when the process of CTP reaches several repititions.

It is currently unknown precisely how much information can be stored in the human brain, with guesses ranging between roughly 76 terabytes to 2.5 petabytes (2,500 terabytes). However, the chips have the ability to store exactly 98 petabytes before being forced to clear space.

In the event of a chip reaching maximum capacity, all Helldiver bodies that are a part of the CTP experiment will be deemed "Inactive", along with the assigned Destroyer. The Destroyer will be moved back to Super Earth for a secure transfer of data. A team of researchers, psychologists, and military leaders are responsible for looking through the data, purging as much non-essential data as possible to create space for new information.

The following are considered Non-Essential Data

--- Any memories prior to completion of Helldiver Training (with the exception of immediate family)

--- Relationships formed after completion of Helldiver Training (with the exception of significant military personnel)

--- Travel routes that are already known or are otherwise of no use to the host or Super Earth

--- Extracurricular knowledge that is not required for the efficient completion of assigned missions (secondary languages, civilian hobbies/skills/trades, etc.)

This List is Subject to Change and Expansion at the Will of CTP Personnel
