THE POTTERS WERE A PERFECTLY normal Wizarding family. One of the most normal, in fact. They weren't strange or weird like some of the pureblooded families (they know themselves), neither were they entirely obsessed with muggles like the Weasleys were, but they were just right.

From the overgrown ivy tendrils that climbed up the walls, to the perfectly trimmed grass, and even to the way Euphemia Potter wore her hair, everything was just the way it was supposed to be.

They were perfectly normal in every single way.

Except for the part where they had a shrine in their house.

It was for this reason, that every other witch or wizard in the country thought them strange.

Which normal people had a shrine in their house? People would ask. And better yet, why?

Now, anyone who knows witches and wizards, knows that there is nothing they love more than to gossip.

And so, whenever they are asked this question, they shake their heads in mock frustration, and begin to tell the tale that they so desperately loved to tell.

With exaggerations, of course, seeing as that is the only way they know how to tell the story.

Over the years, the real story had changed to the point where nobody knew the exact one, but the main events had more or less remained the same.

But the real story could only be found at the Potter's house; and to make things clearer, in their living room, right in the center of the back wall.

Anyone who looked at it at first glance knew what it was.

The shrine.

A framed wand in a glass case stuck to the wall, surrounded by photographs of the same person but at different ages, along with clippings of articles from Witch Weekly and The Daily Prophet that contained more photographs of the same face.

The table was decorated with candles and dead flowers that nobody dare remove,  along with more framed photographs and old possessions of the girl they had once belonged to.

Her name was engraved on a metal plaque made of pure gold, so everyone who came in knew her story.

So she wouldn't be forgotten.

Juliette Potter.

But sadly, and most unfortunately, she was forgotten by the Wizarding World, by everyone but her family, and she was only remembered by gossipers who had run out of things to talk about, and needed an interesting story.

She was known as the girl who had no grave.

Or the girl who vanished.

Or the girl who got eaten.

And Euphemia and Fleamont Potter did everything they could to convince everyone they knew that their little girl was still alive.

But nobody believed them.

They would simply point to the framed article of The Daily Prophet that dated all the way back to 1970, on the wall, right next to Juliette Potter's framed wand, as if that article was all the proof of her demise.

JULIETTE POTTER CONFIRMED DEAD

A year ago, Juliette Potter, 16, daughter of Fleamont and Euphemia Potter went missing from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry near the Dark Forest.

A team of search experts were set on her trail, and after combing the grounds of the entire school for months and months, they have found no trace of her at all.

Last week Juliette's wand was found by Hagrid, the Gamekeeper and Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts when he went for a stroll in the Dark Forest, and after all these months, it is safe to say that Juliette Potter must have been attacked by a strange creature in the forest, and is now officially confirmed dead.

Her wand has been given back to the Potters, who are holding the funeral for their deceased daughter on the 1st of June 1971. Many condolences from the Wizarding World, and we are very sorry for your loss.

Kit Gerrard, Reporter and Writer, Order of Merlin, Fourth Class.
April 25th, 1971

No more was heard from Juliette Potter.

The case was closed.

She was forgotten.

Until five years later, when a boy named Sirius Black saw her name on the Marauder's Map.
