The young boy sprinted along the vast set of peeling train tracks, his heart racing with fear and adrenaline. He had always been warned to stay away from this abandoned railway, but his curiosity got the best of him and he couldn't resist exploring.

But now, as the sun began to set and cast an eerie orange glow over the decaying tracks he regretted his decision. He was completely alone, with no one to turn to for help. And he was being chased by a ferocious creature that he had only heard about in books and legends.

The Tasmanian Tiger, with its striped fur and powerful jaws, had been thought to be extinct for decades. But in this alternative reality, the hunters had managed to capture and kill every last one of them. Well, almost every last one. This one had somehow managed to escape and now it had the young boy in its sights.

The boy's heart pounded in his chest as he desperately searched for an escape route. But the tracks seemed to stretch on forever, with no end in sight. He could hear the tiger's growls and snarls getting closer and closer, and he knew that he had to act fast.

With sweat pouring down his face, the boy spotted a rusty ladder leading up to an old train car. Without hesitation, he began to climb, his hands shaking with fear. The tiger was gaining on him, its hot breath on his heels.

Just as the boy reached the top of the train car, the tiger lunged at him, its sharp claws narrowly missing his legs. The boy let out a scream and scrambled up onto the top of the car, his heart pounding in his ears.

The tiger circled the train car, its eyes locked on the boy, who was now trapped and helpless. The boy could see the hunger and determination in the tiger's eyes, and he knew that his fate was sealed.

But then, something unexpected happened. The tiger suddenly froze in its tracks, its head snapping to the side. The boy followed its gaze and saw a group of hunters emerging from the tree line, their guns aimed at the tiger.

The hunters had been tracking the elusive creature and had finally found it. And now, they were determined to finish it off once and for all. Without hesitation, they fired their guns, the loud bangs echoing through the empty landscape.

The young boy watched in horror as the tiger let out a final, agonized roar before collapsing to the ground. The hunters pat each other on the back, proud of their kill, as the boy trembled on top of the train car.

In this alternative reality, the boy had survived the encounter with the Tasmanian Tiger. But he couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and sadness as he looked down at the lifeless creature. He couldn't help but wonder, what had happened to lead to the extinction of these magnificent animals.

As the sun finally set and darkness covered the abandoned railway, the boy crawled down from the train car and made his way back home, the image of the dead tiger haunting his thoughts. He knew that this encounter would stay with him forever, a reminder of the consequences of man's actions in this cruel and unforgiving world.
