The morning dawns on the treehouses gently due to the foliage. Jack hides his face in the crook of his lover's neck. He feels a kiss on the crown of his head.

"Good morning, honey. We have to wake up."Jack shakes his head, and Zach chuckles. "Yes, we do, Jack."

"Five more minutes, then."

"You said that fifteen minutes ago." He reminds him.

Jack hums. "But you're so warm."

Zach plays with his hair. "And we have responsibilities."

The curly head sighs and sits up. "What time is it?"

The brunet sits up as well and looks at the ceiling. He hums. "If I had to guess, seven."

Jack groans. Zach pecks him, ripping a smile out of him. "Okay, maybe waking up early isn't so bad."

The two put on some clothes and head to the canteen while holding hands. They aired out their little treehouse as they worked.

The guys were there waiting for them. Jonah greets them. "Morning, fellas. Dani and Corbs are a bit hungover, so I'll have to take care of their departments." He turns to Zach. "I already started gathering some medical practitioners. Most are nurses and paramedics like you."

"No doctors?"

"I'm afraid not. Eben and the rebels have some medical books if you want to. You're gonna have to be a doctor."

Zach nods, understanding. "I'll make do of what I have."

"Great." He turns to Jack. "The Athenas offered us some cattle. I already found some butchers and farmers to manage that. All you have to do is maintain a good environment in the kitchen and make menus. Three meals a day."

"Isn't that too much? We'll end up without food very fast." Jack asks.

"You manage that then." He looks at them. "Alright, get to work."

The couple quickly scurries off to their stations. Zach called his team for a meeting as Jack headed to the canteen.

Halfway, Jack calls him by his last name. The brunet looks back as Jack approaches him.

"I'll bring you some food in a bit and during lunch, okay?" Jack reassures before kissing him. "Go get 'em, angel."

Zach smiles and kisses him again. "Good luck at the canteen!" He heads in the big infirmary with his team.

He turns to them. "Alright, everyone. I'm Herron, I was a paramedic working with the fire department. I was assigned to be head of the infirmary, so I wanna start by making two things clear." He raises his thumb. "I like organisation." He lifts his index finger. "And I like clarity." He looks around.

A man raises his finger. "Why are you head of the department? Are there no actual doctors?"

"Yes, there are no doctors. I have worked in all kinds of situations, and I can assure you I can fit the part. Give me two weeks, and if you're unsatisfied, we can vote for a new head of the department."

The crowd of ten people agrees. It seems only fair that they deposit some trust in him before they dismiss him completely.

"Great. Divide yourselves in areas. Nurses, assistants, paramedics, whatever else you are."

Four groups were made. He nods his head at the first group. It was composed of three women. "Paramedics."

Then the second one–composed of a man and a woman. "Nurses."

"Pharmacists." Two men.

"Ocupational therapist." One man.

Zach looks expectantly at the two men left. "Medical assistant."
