"Till death do us part." Dimitri had liked the sound of that. He loved the promises it held and even in demise, he wasn't sure he could let go of her. He skimmed through the crowd and found her still sitting where he had vacated earlier, oblivious to conversations going on around her and messing around with a necklace he hadn't noticed she held, she hadn't worn the one his mother's had and it peeved him, it was all he had had of her, and he didn't like that she had disrespected it- he couldn't have her think she could do anything she wants, he couldn't let her disconcert him further.
She had stuttered while declaring her vows and had ruined her makeup twice but he would be lenient.
He watched as she excused herself and his body twitched with glee at the thought of pursuing her, but he instead steered to the basement.- Carter had hinted at a reporter wandering his property and he needed to know why.
He stalked into the room boredom masking his features.
"Did you find anything, Carter? He questioned spinning his gaze from the nosy reporter.
"She is Gregory's estranged daughter, works as a reporter for a local newspaper- she was seen snooping around and taking photos".
"Do we have everything? He asked sounding more calmly than he had intended.
"Yes, boss". Came his reply from the far corner of the room.
August walked briskly to the middle of the room, peeled off the gag in her mouth, and stepped away- Giving room for Dimitri to see her entirely.
"Good" He murmured barely suppressing his annoyance.
He advanced towards her in slow predatory strides and brushed off the strands coating her front, he held her face in his hand and she combated his hold, making him pin her with a hard glare.
Carter had been right, she is indeed the chief's daughter; his perfect replica......... Gregory's annoying brown eyes stared right back at him and he scoffed in annoyance.
"What were you looking for Elizabeth? He slurred, irritated about having to deal with such inconvenience on a night he would rather be somewhere else.
She stared at him head-on, mouth sealed stubbornly and he scoffed at her insolence; she didn't fear him-she didn't, if she did, she wouldn't even be seen in a meters radius of his home.
His heart danced at the thought of making a scapegoat out of her. He had done it before, and feeling such a thrill again wouldn't be such a bad thing.
Her father hadn't sent her, the shock on her face when he had called out her name was a testament to that.
Gregory would never be so reckless. They had been allies way before now and he knew how much their pacts meant to the old man, he would rather drown himself than break it.
But......she wouldn't take such a wager alone.
He would have to investigate her and everyone she had come in contact with in the last six months and God help her if he sensed any form of conspiracy- he would kill them all.
He can't have himself compromised......he would cease the earth before that happens again.
"Let's play a game Elizabeth." He coerced keeping his scattered thoughts grounded "For every question you fail to provide an answer to, you lose an organ......how is that? He drawled pleasantly pleased at his proposal.
"You can't do that......."I can't?" he raised, cutting her off before she could spatter more rubbish.
"The treaty I signed with Gregory doesn't include his bastardized child." so what do we do Elizabeth? He mocked and she glared at him.
