Ophelia

I silently sat in the cafeteria, wishing that I wasn't eating lunch alone. It's not that people aren't nice to me, it's just that I get so nervous when anybody talks to me. That I can never have a full conversation without turning into a stuttering mess.

I sigh. Then continue to eat my chocolate pudding. I close my eyes in bliss, as the chocolatey goodness coats my tongue. I get another spoon full bringing it to my mouth when someone clears their throat, quite rudely, at me.

I look up to see Kimberly Hall, the school's most popular girl, glaring at me. I quickly look back down and put my spoon full of pudding back into the container. Letting my curly, brown hair cover my face. I don't know why she's so mad at me, I haven't done anything to her. Maybe she's just having a bad day, I mean i haven't seen her kissing anyone yet so she's probably just in a mood.

"Hey Ophelia, why don't you come over and play truth or dare with us."

She asks, well states. Why does she want me to come? She never talks to me, unless she's commenting on how I should talk more, because she says some people don't even know I can speak. I look back at her from the cover of my hair.

"Why?" I ask quietly.

She looks away and then back at me, her expression completely different from earlier as she gives me a big grin. She must be up to something.

"Well, you looked lonely by yourself, so I thought I would invite you over so you wouldn't have to eat lunch alone." She says still smiling.

She has never asked me to sit with her before, but maybe she's just being nice today? I doubt it, but it would be rude of me to say no.

I nod and give her a small smile.

Her grin is turning into an evil smirk.

I should've known.

"Okay, follow me."

I sigh. Too late to run now.

We walk over to a table, that is seating at least twenty people. She points to a spot between two guys, and motions for me to sit. I awkwardly walk over to the two guys and sit down, luckily not embarrassing myself in the process. I look at the guy on my right to see him already smiling at me.

I blush, looking away, then bring my hand up to my ear. I untuck my hair and let it fall, covering that side of my face.

I look back at the table, my cheeks still slightly burning, and watch as Kimberly reaches for the bottle and flicks her wrist, spinning it. It slowly comes to a stop in front of a blonde haired girl wearing glasses, I think her name is Cassy.

Kimberly smiles. "Truth or dare."

"Truth" the girl named Cassy says.

"Do you like Cody?" Kimberly asks with a smirk, looking towards the guy two seats away from me.

I look towards Cassy to see her face turning pink.

"Answer the question. Do you like Cody?" Kimberly snaps at her.

"Uh..umm" Cassy says stuttering.

"Do you?"

"Y- yes" Cassy mumbles her face now turning red.

I look to Kimberly to see her smirk again.

"I'm not surprised, but too bad he isn't into girls that look like they just got run over by a dump truck. But that's okay at least you have a personality, oh wait" She says holding a finger to her chin. "you don't have that either." She says giving her a small pout which makes everyone laugh. I stare at her with my mouth hanging open, what is wrong with this girl?
