Piper POV

Jason hung up the phone and rubbed his face. "Those damn kidnappers are going to get the shit kicked outta them."

I nodded and wrapped my arms around his waist, laying my head on his chest. I felt his muscles relax and his arm around me. He switched on the radio and we danced to whatever song came on, which happened to be his song Perfect Storm.

Perfect Storm by Brad Paisley

If she was a drink, she'd be single barrel bourbon on ice
Smooth with a kick, a chill and a burn all at the same time
She's Sunday drive meets high-speed chase
She ain't just a song, she's the whole mixtape
She's so complicated that's the way God made her
Sunshine mixed with a little hurricane

[Chorus:]
And she destroys me in that t-shirt
And I love her so much it hurts
I never meant to fall like this
But she don't just rain, she pours
That girl right there's the perfect storm

I know how to make her laugh or blush or mad at me
But that's OK, there ain't no one more beautiful angry
And she loves just as deep as she goes when she's down
The highs match the lows, can't have one without the other
And I love her just the way God made her
Sunshine mixed with a little hurricane

[Chorus:]
And she destroys me in that t-shirt
And I love her so much it hurts
I never meant to fall like this
But she don't just rain, she pours
That girl right there's the perfect storm

She's the thrill of a lifetime a guy like me spends his whole life looking for
That girl right there's the perfect storm

Woah-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh

(She destroys me in that t-shirt)

He kissed my head and ran his hand through his hair, going to his office. I glanced at the clock and went to wake up the boys.

"Mom!" Justin groaned as Duncan buried his head in his pillows.

"Up. Now. We have to talk." I said sternly, walking between their beds.

"Can we go back to sleep afterwards?" Duncan asked, his voice muffled.

"No. You have chores."

"Nope, not gettin' up." Justin replied.

I sighed and reached over to each bed, ripping off their blankets and folding them up, tossing them onto the couch in the living room. They howled at the sudden cold. Justin curled into a ball and Duncan sat up, glaring at me. I smiled sweetly at him. "Get up. You guys have two minutes before I pour ice water on you."

I left the room and heard Duncan stumble after me, grabbing a Monster out of the fridge. "At least eat breakfast with that." I said, knowing he would drink it anyway if I said not to.

"Fine." He grabbed some frozen waffles and put them in the toaster as I filled a large Tupperware with ice water.

I waited two minutes, then went into their room and dumped it on Justin. He yelled and grabbed a pillow to shield his legs. "Get up, Justin! Unless you want your father to come get you up, and he isn't in a good mood."

"Why?" He moaned.

"The same reason I'll tell you when you get your butt out of bed."

He grumbled at me and pushed himself off his soaking wet bed, changing into warm clothes as I went back to the kitchen. Duncan stuffed the waffles in his mouth and guzzled his drink, prompting a disgusted face from me.

We went to sit in the living room and waited for Justin. When he sat down I sat forward.

"So I don't know if you saw the news last night, but Char and Bianca were kidnapped last night."

"Who did it? Was it mon-" Justin started.

"We don't know. For all we know, it could have been some assholes who wanted to kidnap unsuspecting kids."

"Wait. Of all people, they should be able to defend themselves." Duncan pointed out

"Chloroform and restraint kind of prohibit that." I replied, leaning back in my chair.

"Shit." Justin said, running his hand through his soaked hair.

"Language!" Jason shouted as I opened my mouth. I smiled.

"Sorry, Dad!" Justin said, going into the kitchen and taking his medication. I immediately set chores for them while I cleaned around the house and talked to Annabeth on the phone.

OH MY GODS EMMA UPDATED! IT MUST BE YOUR BIRTHDAY! Nah, I just needed to write today and got inspired. I know I always say this, but I am genuinely sorry that it took so long to update. I don't know where the time went. In other news, I started high school today! I'm in the ninth grade for those of you who have different grading systems. AND MY ENGLISH TEACHER IS SO MONOTONE I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP! It's like Siri and the teacher from Ferris Beuller's Day Off (spelled that wrong I bet) had a baby and he got both of their monotonous voices- that's my teacher. AND HES THE LAST CLASS OF THE DAY AND I PHYSICALLY CANNOT! I dunno when the next update will be but I can tell you I'll be working on it. Again, so sorry it took so long. Love you guys!
