The streets of Seville were cloaked in darkness as a thick fog rolled in from the river. The air was thick with tension as the group of men, dressed in dark cloaks and hoods, made their way through the winding alleyways towards the cemetery. They moved with haste, their steps purposeful and determined.
At the head of the group was Dr. Rodrigo Lopez's most trusted disciple, Antonio. His usually calm and composed demeanour was replaced with an air of nervousness and fear. He knew the gravity of their mission and the consequences if they were caught. But he also knew that he could not let his mentor's death go unpunished.
As the group reached the cemetery gates, they paused and exchanged glances, each knowing their role in the gruesome task ahead. With a silent nod, Antonio led the way in, his footsteps muffled by the freshly fallen leaves.
The fog was thicker here, making it difficult for the group to see more than a few feet ahead. But Antonio knew the cemetery like the back of his hand. He led them through the rows of headstones, his senses on high alert.
Finally, they reached Dr. Lopez's grave. It was a simple, unmarked plot, but it held the remains of the man they had all respected and looked up to. Antonio could not contain the tears that welled up in his eyes as he knelt by the grave.
The others gathered around, their faces grim with determination. The sound of dirt being shovelled filled the silent night as they began to dig. It was hard work, but their determination gave them the strength they needed.
After what felt like hours, the group reached the coffin. They pried the lid open, revealing the body of their beloved mentor. Tears streaming down his face, Antonio took hold of the surgeon's head and turned it towards him.
'This is for you, my dear friend,' he whispered before plunging a knife deep into Dr. Lopez's heart.
The others followed suit, stabbing and mutilating the body of their mentor, each strike fueled by their anger and grief. Blood and guts covered their hands and clothes, but they did not stop until they were satisfied that justice had been served.
Panting and covered in gore, the group stood in silence around the desecrated grave. They knew that their actions would have consequences, but they were willing to face them for the sake of their fallen mentor.
As they made their way out of the cemetery, their footsteps heavy with exhaustion and sorrow, the fog began to lift, revealing the full moon shining down on them. Antonio looked back at the grave one last time, a sense of peace filling his heart. Dr. Lopez may be gone, but his legacy would live on through them and their acts of vengeance.
