"Is it ready?"

"No, not yet."

Natasha had been trying for over an hour to get the earpiece Stark had sold her on a silver platter, praising its qualities as an intergalactic receiver or something like that, to work. Either she had damaged the device while fighting in the woods upon arrival, or the product sold was dysfunctional, and Natasha wouldn't hesitate to leave a negative review on Google. She already imagined the explanatory text for the customer experience, describing "how she had been disappointed to lose the network while passing through an alternate universe. Don't buy, false advertising!" The spy was now trying to figure out a way to recharge her Widow's Bite.

"...And now?"

Natasha let out an annoyed grunt. Every two minutes, as precise as a kitchen timer, Kate asked her the same question. Natasha was about to turn into a pressure cooker and start screaming.

At home, Natasha had a stand with the right cables to charge her gear. Her electric bracelets charged next to her cell phone on her bedside table, convenient. Except that these charging cables were apparently impossible to recreate in order to prevent untrained or ill-intentioned individuals from seizing them, less convenient.

Natasha had obviously extolled the numerous qualities of her Widow's Bite to Kate, who had had the opportunity to taste the shock caused by this weapon. She had talked to her about her grappling hook with melancholy, about the shots from her taser discs... And Kate had made a joke about her also having these electrifying abilities. That gave Natasha an idea after the unimpressed look had left her face. That's why she was currently leaning over the dining table trying to clear the opening of the bracelets to avoid frying the circuits during the recharge. A quarter turn to the right with this very (un) practical pair of tweezers and...

"Aha!"

Natasha made a victorious gesture, holding a piece of plastic between her fingertips. Kate leaned so close to her hand that her eyes crossed.

"All this for such a small piece of plastic?"

The blonde was many things, but patient was not part of her description. Even for a vampire with all the time in the world, waiting a second sometimes seemed unthinkable. Natasha found the term "golden retriever" perfect to describe the blonde. Kate followed Natasha like an abandoned puppy, with the same irresistible shining eyes that squeezed your heart. She was caring and always ready to do anything to please her. The redhead had never had anyone as devoted after her. She had had to seduce and pretend to be seduced in return, had forced herself to stay in relationships she didn't want, and had been abused in more than one way.
