The sun was just beginning to set over the quaint little town of Oakwood, casting a warm golden glow over the cobblestone streets. I hurriedly walked down the sidewalk, my heels clicking loudly against the pavement as I tried to ignore the sense of urgency pulsing through me.
I had just finished my visit at the local bookstore and was eager to get home, but something compelled me to take a different route than usual. As I turned the corner onto a deserted side street, a strange feeling washed over me. It was as if the air around me crackled with an unknown energy, drawing me further down the unfamiliar path.
My heart raced as I passed by an old abandoned house, its windows boarded up and ivy creeping up the crumbling brick walls. Despite the sense of unease that prickled at the back of my neck, I felt drawn to the foreboding structure. Almost as if I was being pulled towards it by an invisible force.
With a deep breath, I hesitantly stepped closer to the derelict building. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying wood, making my skin prickle with unease. And yet, I couldn't tear my gaze away from the darkened entrance, a sense of curiosity gnawing at the edges of my mind.
Just as I was about to turn and leave, a sudden movement caught my eye. A figure emerged from the shadows of the doorway, tall and shimmering with an ethereal light. My breath caught in my throat as I beheld the most captivating sight I had ever seen.
He was tall and lean, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see straight into my soul. His hair was a cascade of chestnut waves that framed his chiseled features, and a smoldering intensity burned in his gaze as he calmly regarded me.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still as we stared at each other, the world around us fading into nothingness. And in that fleeting instant, I felt a connection so deep and profound that it left me breathless.
"Who are you?" I finally managed to whisper, my voice barely above a hoarse murmur.
He smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes that sent shivers down my spine. "I am Alexander," he replied, his voice like velvet against my ears. "And you, my dear Julie, are the one I have been searching for."
I felt my heart skip a beat at his words, a rush of emotions swirling within me. My name was Jane, so why would he call me something I'm not? Maybe he mistakened me for someone else. It was as if I had known him for lifetimes, as if our souls had been bound together across the ages. And in that moment, I knew that this encounter was just the beginning of a love that transcended time itself. But something still felt off.
As Alexander extended his hand towards me, a warmth spread through my chest, igniting a fire that I had never known before. And as our fingers touched, a spark of recognition flared between us, as if we had been cursed to always find each other.
"I'm sorry..." I said aloud, removing my grip from his as I looked into his eyes. "Who are you exactly? And what are you doing out here so late? And in an abandoned building?"
"That's none of your business," he told me.
"Who's Julie?" I asked him.
"You."
"No, I'm Jane."
"Yeah. Now."
I was confused as to what he meant. Who was Julie? I wasn't Julie. Why did he emphasise 'now'?
"What do you mean now?" I asked him.
"None of your business."
There was something different about Alexander. He didn't seem like the normal person. Suddenly, he walked closer to me, our eyes meeting. I tried to back away, but he grabbed my waist and tried to hold me down.
