{hello friends, i didn't do an author's message for the last chapter because i wanted the story to open up for itself u know? this story is based off the all time low song. i just wanted the story to be inspired by the lyrics, and i do not own or have rights to that song in any way, although i wish i did because it happens to be musical genius. :-) anyways, this is my first luke fic and im a little unsure, so bear with me!}
"luuuuuke. luuuuuuuuke. LUUUUUUKE." the tall blonde boy awoke to blonde figure sitting on the edge of his bed, a bowl of froot loops clutched tightly to her chest. she smiled when she noticed his newly-opened eyes. he rubbed at his face groggily, clearing away the dried-up sleep that was clouding the corners of his vision.
"how did you even get into my room? what the hell?" luke was clearly not amused. sophie beamed at him, ignoring his question and offering out the bowl full of brightly colored breakfast food. luke sat up and graciously accepted the cereal, as he was starving. he waited patiently for sophie to explain why and how she was in his bedroom at 7:30 in the morning.
"your housemate let me in. i swear to god, do you guys ever clean this place? frat boys are disgusting. remind me to buy you guys a mop. and a broom, for that matter." she motioned to the dirty floor that her feet hovered just above, as her legs weren't long enough to reach from the position in which she was sitting. luke smiled to himself, as she looked very amusing.
"what is the point of cleaning when we're just gonna make everything dirty again?" luke pondered in response to sophie's question. this earned a heavy sigh of exasperation from sophie, who was definitely on the neat side of the spectrum. she began picking clothes up off of luke's floor, folding clean shirts and tossing dirty jeans into the navy blue hamper she had forced him to buy.
"get dressed, luke. we have places to be, people to see!" she threw his covers back for emphasis, revealing a pair of hideous spongebob pajama pants. sophie wrinkled her nose at the choice of sleepwear. she didn't exactly understand the show, as her protective mom hadn't let her be a "normal kid", at least according to luke. sophie hadn't been allowed to watch spongebob, apparently it would cause her to 'develop a severe case of adhd.'
luke began rummaging through the hamper, pulling out all of the dirty clothes his friend had just kindly cleaned up. he selected a pair of black jeans which had likely not been washed since the stone ages, then grudgingly threw everything else back into the hamper. sophie smiled. "see? you're learning!" she tossed him a plain gray shirt, and he tugged it on, still shaking the last traces of fatigue from his body. after pulling on a pair of dirty black converse (without socks, much to sophie's dismay), he followed her out into the hallway.
the hallway was littered with beer cans, socks, food wrappers; you name it, it was most likely wallowing in the filth. it was disgusting, even luke had to admit it. sophie's face sported a look of pure agony, her skin a slight shade of green. once they were safe in the semi-clean kitchen, she let out a rush of breath. she hated any bad smells, and that hallway smelled like a nice bottle of au-de-garbage. luke's frat brothers were not exactly a tidy bunch.
sophie grabbed an apple from the bowl on the counter, doused it in some water from the sink, and they were out the door. her keys jangled melodiously from the back pocket of her shorts, signaling to luke that they were going somewhere out of walking distance. he sighed. this usually meant-
"shopping! it's gonna be so fun!" sophie blurted excitedly. her pale gray eyes sparkled excitedly. "we're picking up olivia too, by the way." luke groaned, rubbing his face. he despised shopping, and he wasn't exactly friends with sophie's gal pal. whenever luke was forced to the mall, there was always nowhere to sit as sophie took hours in each store. and of course, she just had to visit all of them.
