The flickering candlelight danced on the tear tracks staining Jungkook's cheeks. Jin sat across from him, a statue of barely contained anger. The air crackled with unspoken accusations, the weight of the revealed truth a suffocating presence.

"It wasn't me, Jin," Jungkook pleaded, his voice hoarse.

Jin remained silent, his gaze a stormy grey.

"That night..." Jungkook swallowed, the memory a physical weight on his chest. "It was my father. He... he took them."

Jin flinched, a flicker of understanding battling with the cold fury that had taken root within him.

"But Taehyung..." Jin started, the accusation hanging heavy in the air.

"Taehyung was there too," Jungkook cut in, his voice trembling. "He snuck out to play with me. We were... right outside the warehouse when it happened."

A sob escaped his lips, his body wracked with a fresh wave of despair.

"I heard them," he continued, his voice barely a whisper. "My father... and Taehyung's parents. I..." Shame choked his words. "I was just a kid. He was... he was a monster, Jin. He threatened me, threatened everyone I knew."

Jin's eyes flickered with a sliver of comprehension. He saw a glimpse of the helpless child, trapped in a terrifying situation, a pawn in a twisted game orchestrated by a monstrous father.

"I ran with Taehyung," Jungkook choked out. "The fire... it spread so fast. I could only get him out."

Raw pain etched itself onto his face. "He was unconscious. I thought... I thought he wouldn't remember. But when he woke up..."

His voice trailed off, the unspoken accusation hanging heavy in the air.

Jin finally spoke, his voice rough but laced with a newfound empathy. "He blamed you."

Jungkook nodded, tears welling up anew. "He saw his parents... gone. And all he saw was me, pulling him away from the flames. He couldn't... he couldn't accept the truth."

A heavy silence descended, the weight of the revelation settling on them both. The truth painted a horrifying picture - a child witness to a tragedy, another child left to grapple with the loss of his parents and the misplaced blame born out of grief and confusion.

"It wasn't your fault," Jin finally said, his voice thick with emotion. "You were a child, caught in the middle of a nightmare."

The words hung in the air, a balm on Jungkook's wounded soul. A flicker of hope, fragile as a spiderweb, rekindled in his eyes.
