" you don't have to tell me if you don't want to I was only trying to help." She says giving me a hand to help me out of the car.
Once we get inside I wait to see what she does. When she sits down on the couch I kinda hover next to her not wanting to sit down. I still had a bit of a headache and didn't feel the best but I didn't want to go back to sleep knowing that I would only be met with another nightmare.
" you can sit down if you would like." Sierra tells me moving over a little to make more room for me. This had to be a trick you couldn't sit down on couch if an adult was using it. I wasn't even allowed to sit in a chair if my dad was in the same room.
" no thank you." I say to her not wanting to fall into her trap. I was smarter than that. Even if she had been nice so far it didn't mean that she was going to be nice now.
" I'm not going to get mad at you for sitting down if that is what your scared of." She says and I could tell she was starting to get annoyed so I sit down hoping that was what she really wanted.
" If you don't mind my asking how old were you when your dad forced you into bed first?" She asks and I might as well give her an answer it's not like she hadn't already brought back up the memory.
" It was after the beatings started. I think I was around five and he was with a woman. He brought her home having already told me to stay in my room and not make a noise. I was pretty sure he wasn't back yet when I left my room to go to the bathroom. When I walked out of the bathroom he was pulling off the shirt of a lady but on seeing me she pulled it back on and ran off. He got mad then beat me but decided that if I was going to make woman run off then I would have to fulfill his needs." I tell her coming clean then right after pulling my knees to my chest so I wouldn't have to see her reaction.
I don't hear anything but a stunned silence and I don't dare to look up to see her reaction. I feel myself get pulled in by her but before she can fully hug me I panic and pull away. Before she can even react I am in the room she was letting me use with the door locked behind me.
I hop on top of the bed and pull the blankets over me. I take a few breaths to try and calm myself down. I kept telling myself that it was alright and that Syria would never do anything to hurt me. The whole physical contact thing wasn't really something I was used to.
After I had heard Syria's footsteps leave from in front of my door I slowly pull the blankets off of myself. I head over to the bookcase and pull a book off. I go back over to the bed and sit down losing myself in a fictional world.
After what only seemed to me a few minutes but was most likely at least an hour Syria knocks on my door. " I'm not mad at you I just didn't want to say anything because I didn't know what to say. I'm sorry that all of that happened to you but I can't change the past. Now I'm trying to make your future brighter."
I set my book down by my side." I'm not used to all of this. Leave me be for now." I say looking down at my feet.
After about an hour she knocks on my door. I get up and unlock it finding her standing there with a plate of food and some medicine. I sit back down on my bed ready to eat.
