Artur Leywin POV
A little crack open in the window by not being covered fully by the curtains allowed the sweet and warm sun rays to pass by it and hit my face. At first, the feeling was pleasant but very soon got very uncomfortable, which made me wake up from my beautiful sleep.
Although it was evident that I had an Asura body for some time, which caused me to forget about basic needs such as sleeping or eating, yesterday was an extremely demanding and exhausting day that left me in dire need.
Once again, the nobles of Dicathen and the Highbloods of Alacrya convened in large numbers for a momentous meeting between the two continents. This gathering aimed to address crucial matters such as future policies and laws, ensuring the prosperity of both lands.
I served as the spokesperson for Dicathen until Curtis and Tessia were prepared to proclaim themselves as the new King and Queen of their respective home kingdoms, while the dwarves ultimately selected their Prime Minister. For Alacrya the situation was nothing more different than ours and for the moment, Seris stepped out as their leader until all the 5 dominions decided how should their continent would be ruled.
By this time, the war had been over for over six months, yet there remained an overwhelming amount of tasks to be completed: the reconstruction of cities, the establishment of institutes, the formation of trade routes, and so on. And things couldn't have been more challenging when even in those times, the greedy rich men of both continents would continue to think only for themselves.
This whole idea of Dicathen and Alacrya working together from now on, helping each other in the domains they lack sounded way too ideal and utopian than I anticipated. Sure, the good things take a long time to take initiative, but neither party seemed to want.
Seris and I have been caught in lengthy negotiations with the nobility of two continents, attempting to reach agreements. In my past life as a King, I would encounter wealthy men daily, eager to present their ideas solely for their own gain. These encounters granted me with a wealth of invaluable experiences in the realm of negotiations. Sure, it annoyed me at maximum going in circles with them, up to the point of giving up and falling into their demands, but I held it strong, way too strong turns out.
The one who didn't have this level of patience with me was Seris. If it wasn't for her, the meeting would have lasted up until this morning and not late night yesterday. She simply commanded their people to stop or else would be judged for treason, the majority of them being allied with Agrona in the past and risking their titles removed, wealth confiscated, and life to perish.
That not only silenced the nobility but for the first time, made all of them agree on the spot.
That was all happening yesterday. Exiting that meeting I had felt how all the fatigue hit me to the point of struggling to walk straight. What I wished more at that moment was a good and long sleep.
And here we are. "*yawn* Gooood morning... world?" I stretched my arms tight, a normal routine of mine, and wanted to rise from the bed but something held me, feeling its weight on my abdomen.
As I lifted the blanket, I was greeted by the captivating sight of a stunning lady, standing with her head resting on my chest. Her long, tousled navy hair and deep scarlet eyes were fixed upon me, and - to my astonishment - I could have sworn that her pupils were shaped like delicate hearts. She gave me a weak but adorable smile, then moved out of my abdomen and greeted me.
"Good morning you too, Grey~ <3," Caera said.
