بسم الله
I entered the venue with my brother Saad and friend Umar saying salaam to the people already present. We go to the lounge and say salaam to the sheikh who received some refreshments before beginning the muhadhara.
Returning to the venue waiting for the sheikh, the bustling noises of people entering the venue and small chatter quietened down. the sheikh entered the hall, climbing the stairs to the stage, saying his salaams as the muhadhara finally began.
As the muhadhara goes on, I go to the bathroom when i spot a young boy who looks sad and lost in the entrance of the hall. He looked like he was looking for someone. I stride towards him passing the various food stands and snack bars and small groups of volunteers scattered across. The boy seemed startled, looking up at me.
"Hello there, are you okay?" I ask, smiling at the young boy.
"Umm.. do you know where my brother Adam is?" he asked quietly but audible enough for me to hear.
"I'm not sure who he is, but I can help you look for him," I replied with a smile.
"Really?!" he said elited with a big smile.
"yes yallah let's go look for him." I grinned back, holding my hand out as we went to look for his brother.
"What's your name, hmm?"I ask.
"Zayd." he says, looking up, still smiling.
"Allahumma barik, that's a nice name."
"Whats your name?" he tilts his head and raises his arms questionably.
"Ali," I say.
"My friend at school is called Ali too," he adds.
"Look, Adam," he cuts himself off, pointing at a man in who looked a similar age to me, who sat listening attentively.Shortly, the break for the muhadhara arrives as the hall begins to bustle, and people start to stand up, rushing to the food stands to get refreshments. I introduce myself to Adam as he does similarly. We had a short conversation, and it resulted in being that Zayd just having to go to the bathroom. He also introduced me to his elder brother Aadil. I get some refreshments for us, and our conversation continues. After a few minutes, the talk continued, and we sat again listening quietly.
The muhadhara ended, and the bustling noises began to rise again. Ishaa time was slowly arriving, and we also began leaving the venue to head back to the mosque. The night sky was filled with numerous stars that luminated the dark canvas. A cooling weave of air hit the entrance of the venue as we walked out. Me and I talked as Zayd sprinted towards the cars. Aadil joined us briefly. After some small talk and introducing, Aadil proceeded to the car.
and that's when I noticed her.
