EPILOGUE PART TWO
Carry On My Wayward Son

Years had passed, but none of them had died, contrary to how it was supposed to go. The two vehicles flew out of a blue portal: The Chevy Truck and The Impala.

Both had their tires screeching on the pavement. Dean got out of his car while Preston got out of hers. Both of the siblings had a shaky breath as they both sighed, seeing who was standing there. A group.

An older guy, who Preston recognised as Samuel Campbell, her maternal grandfather, went to question Dean. But, Dean held up his hands and grabbed this universe's Mary from the Impala. Mary immediately reached for John.

The group stared at both Preston and Dean in confusion, waiting for an explanation.

"My dad, he uh, he kept a hunter's journal, looked just like this. I lived my whole life by that damn thing, and so did she. Well this is my hunter's journal. So if you're gonna stay in this game, this will help guide you through it." Dean said, handing the journal to John.

"Thank you." John thanked with tears in his eyes.

Preston couldn't believe there was a John Winchester that actually had emotions other than anger.

Dean looked at Mary. "I know you're thinking about quitting hunting. Believe me I understand and so does she, but you need to do me one favour: keep an eye out for a yellow-eyed demon, and if you even catch a hint of that son of a bitch," Dean started, unwrapping the cloth to reveal a colt, "I need you to use this."

"Your family, did you ever find a version where they had a shot of a happy ending?" Mary asked with hopeful eyes.

Dean looked around, glancing at Preston. "I think I did." Dean said, motioning for Preston to follow.

"You never told us your names." John said.

    "Hetfield. James Hetfield." Dean lied.

    "And you?" Mary asked Preston.

"River Reeves." Preston lied also, getting in her truck.

They got out of the world between worlds, and ended up back on their Earth, in Mystic Falls. Dean looked at Preston when they both stepped out.

    "River Reeves?" Dean questioned.

"Fuck off. I couldn't think so I went with two popular actors' names: River Phoenix, Keanu Reeves." Preston defended herself. "Besides, you've gone with a million different famous people's names."

Dean shook his head, scoffing. "How's my niece?" He asked.

"Stef's good, misses her fun, cool uncle though." Preston told him.

"Well, I guess I could stay for a bit. Make sure the kids at the school are actually learning important stuff." Dean said in a gruff voice.

"Hey, why don't we do a drive, just you and me in the Impala?" Preston suggested.

    "Alright, fine."

They climbed into the Impala, where it was just them. The two siblings shared a look.

"Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole." They said in sync, making each other laugh.

Dean put the cassette tape in, playing 'Carry On My Wayward Son' by Kansas, as they did a roadtrip, not a long one, but long enough.

I know it's a short epilogue, but... it's done!

Preston will appear in other fics, which will be listed in the end note!

Okay, bye!
